Hi There!
You didn’t mention your symptoms but untreated oral thrush can lead to serious systemic yeast infections. Yeast infections in your bloodstream can be life-threatening.
A Person with Oral Thrush may have:
-White lesions on their tongue, inner cheeks, and sometimes on the roof of their mouth, gums and tonsils
-Redness or soreness that may be severe enough to cause difficulty eating or swallowing
-Cracking and redness at the corners of their mouth (especially in denture wearers)
-A cottony feeling in their mouth
-Loss of taste
If a person has a suppressed immune system, Thrush is more likely to spread to other parts of their body, such as their digestive tract, lungs, liver and heart valves.
Thrush can be treated with antifungals, clotrimazol, nystatin, and fluconzole. For severe or azole-resistant esophageal candidiasis, treatment with amphotericin B may be necessary.
You can go to your Family Doctor who may give you a prescript
ion to treat the Thrush but he/she should send you to an Infectious Disease Specialist since you have a suppressed immune system and known conditions.
If you think you have Thrush, you should get off the Enbrel immediately since it makes infections spread faster.
My GP dxd. me with Oral Thrush quite a few years ago when I was on high dose Prednisone. He referred me to a Specialist of Infectious Diseases. I did not have cracks in the corners of my mouth nor did I lose my sense of taste. I hope that you discover for sure and get treatment for it soon.
