Hi, I searched for OPLL forums on the Internet and am glad to find so many posts here.
Recently, I've been diagnosed with OPLL (ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament) of the cervical spine. The neurologist did not recommend surgery, and instead suggested I see a physiotherapist, which I did.
Does anyone else have OPLL and was told they DID NOT need surgery and to undergo conservative treatment, such as physiotherapy, instead? What has worked for you? Strengthening the deep neck muscles is a challenge because the exercises themselves aggravate the symptoms. How do you guys do it?
Also, how do you deal with the pain and tingling/numbness? I take NSAIDs but recently there's been a flareup and I took painkillers on top of that. I don't want to become dependent on painkillers, and I've read some articles on pain management including neuroplastic pain management. Again, what has worked for you?
Thanks in advance for any insights.
