PCa, and now this?

I had a lot of pain in my hands after doing very strenuous work on a deck last May. But the pain didn't go away as you would expect from over doing it. My oncologist thought it was myopathy due a statin I'm on but that wasn't it either. My pcp ran some tests, no Lyme disease but RF was 109. He sent me to rheumatologist who did more tests. Everything normal except ccp>250. That sounds bad! I see him again Tuesday and I expect he'll call it RA at that point. I still have pain in my fingers and some swelling in pointer finger-hand joint, right hand only.

I guess the good news is my PCa is under control, but I'm pretty concerned about what's in store for me on this front.

Welcome to this section of HW, but it does seem quite unfair that you got double whammied. The silver lining is that the folks here with RA are as compassionate and knowledgable as the posters on the PCa.
Getting to the rheumatologist and getting on meds wil help ensure that you don't end up with joint damage and should help alleviate your pain. Do you also have redness and heat around your joints? Did you get a sedrate on your blood panel?
There are really a lot of new medications available. When I was dx'd, I had visions of gnarled fingers and cane or wheelchair, as I could barely walk. I'm well controlled and live a normal life thanks to tnf blockers.
So hang in there. Good chance you will be able to get both of these nasty beasts under control.
