For a few weeks now I have been suffering from swelling, pain and a very pronounced raised and inflamed bump right on the top of my right foot. Increasing my prednisone has had little effect. Icing it seems to help short term. Wearing shoes and walking or standing for any amount of time has me in pain all night. I don't seem to be having any other significant joint pain, so I'm not sure it's RA related, although it sure looks like it. I see GP Monday, so I'm thinking it's time for a referral to podiatrist. Unfortunately that means travel since there aren't any locally. There are drawbacks to living in a beautiful rural area, and that's one of them.
Has anyone had the same experience that was or was not RA related? If it was a knee or wrist, I'd get a shot of cortisone. Can you get a cortisone shot in the top of foot? It's painful to even think about
it!
Thanks for any input.
I sure miss being able to zumba
