I was diagnosed with AOSD in 2002. I had an initial flare that put me in a wheelchair for a while, then with medications and time, I went into remission and have just been dealing with the arthritis piece for the past 15 or so years.
The doctor that first diagnosed me told me that he had a patient that was on a seven year cycle and would have a flare every seven years. Sadly, that doctor is no longer practicing. And once I got past the seven year mark, I just figured I wouldn't have a second flare.
about
a week ago, I got a rash that didn't itch on my neck, and a couple days ago, I had a fever spike for no apparent reason. The arthritis that I have been dealing with has gotten worse in the last while. I don't know if I am just making things bigger for no reason or if I am heading into a second flare. I don't know if a second flare comes gradually or drops like a lead weight. I do have a doctor appointment coming up, but it's with my PCP who is still in the learning process. I probably need him to refer me to a rheumatologist who may have some knowledge or AOSD.
I have been trying to do some research about
what a typical second flare looks like, but haven't been successful so far. Any information anyone has, I would greatly appreciate.
