RA and lung issues

Does anyone have lung problems? I was diagnosed with RA at the age of 8 and am now above 50. I am having a vague heavy feeling in my chest. No cough, but it seems I'm not getting enough oxygen. No sharp pains, although sometimes I do feel a burning sensation. None of this seems to be associated with my heart. Anyway, none of my symptoms seem to follow the lung diseases associated with RA. I was curious if anyone else was troubled with these issues.

I’m 60 and just last week diagnosed with RA. I’ve been told I’ve had it for much longer, but it was never checked because my pain wasn’t bad and I never talked about it. Last May, I started getting just a bit short of breath and my O2 level would go down. I’d already been on oxygen for over a year because for some reason, my levels would drop when I slept. But in may I had to start using it during the day at times. Within 3 weeks it was low almost all of the time. So in the long run, I was diagnosed with pneumonia: no fever or coughing, and overall not that short of breath except on exertion. But after that cleared up, I still had problems with low sats. My dr found inflammation in my lungs that still hasn’t gone away. And now there’s a spot in one of my lungs. All this said, he looked, with blood tests, an inflammatory disease. RA was a possibility. Finally 8 months later I was diagnosed. We don’t know yet if my lung issues are caused by RA, but my pulmonary dr seems very familiar with it. So please take away one thing here. And that is it’s possible to have atypical pneumonia. By the time I found out about it, (I was still at home), in less than an hour I couldn’t breathe and 911 had to be called. So if nothing else, ask your dr for a CT chest scan. If it’s not pneumonia it will show something like inflammation, which can be a complication of RA as well as pneumonia. I don’t know how old this post is, but if not you, maybe it will help another down the road.
