I was diagnosed with R.A about a year ago. I have recently been having these pains that can happen to any part of my body but so far it has just been my limbs and chest. I do however feel it can happen on my spine at anytime. I kind of get a build up type feeling. This morning, I had literally just got out of bed and within minutes there was this pain and spasm mix kicking up in my leg. It feels like I am getting beat with a cactus while getting electric shocks. It lasted 4 hours this time. The time before was 18 hours in my arms and shoulders. I put in a call on Monday to my general practitioner telling him what was going on and any ideas on what can I try to get them to go away. His reply yesterday was " there was nothing more he could and I needed a referral to a neurologist. I do smoke pot for the pain problems, and spasms. Even that does nothing. Recently I bought a bottle of rum to use that as a suppressant. ( I don't normally drink and really don't like to do so) it only worked 2 or 3 times then it stopped working. E.R. doctors just assume I am there to get pain meds. I have no pain meds in my system except the marijuana. I have no desire to add a pain pill just yet. After all this rambling what I need to know if this is a common problem, and how do you make them stop? Riding them out is pure hell. It gets to the point where I am literally screaming. My leg is super sore now.
Any ideas will help
I also have Cerebral Palsy and a Right Above Knee amputation. Fibro which compounds the problem.
