Bmichael, we had a couple of members on here a couple of years ago that tried stem cell therapy. Both had fear of surgery & did stem cell, it was not successful & they ended up having surgery. They said the only success was emptying out their checking & savings accounts & they were very regretful in their decisions. You are correct, insurance will not pay for it because it is not FDA approved. Stem cell therapy is currently approved for a few selected conditions. It may one day be the new treatment after more clinical trials & studies.
Find yourself an orthopedic that specializes in knees only rather than an orthopedic that treats everything. Good luck.
