redface  hey ya'll,

 

hanging in there.  in Major Colon Crisis mode.  me thinks i may need to see a doc soon, or see if i can wait out till the ultrasounds.  feels like something has "popped"  and belly is very sore and feels very strained, distended.

this stinks.

anyone get "Walk the Line" yet?....i did.  saw it in the cinemas twice & rented it today; ready for bed!

Erin, I think ye should see a man of medicine. :-)   A feeling of something "popping" in your belly does not sound good.

I'm back among the living now that it is after 11am (EST). I swear that when I get up (4:30am) for work until around 11am everyday, you better not even try to talk to me.  I ache, I'm stiff, and I'm likely to bite your head off. I always tell me husband not to call me at work until later.  Once the ultracet has kicked in. 

I've been waking up quite routinely at night now for the last 2 weeks with my hips and my knees aching horribly.  My poor husband feels so bad for me, and he doesn't know what to do.  I think it's my fault though.  I started taking an ultracet an hour or so before bed (around 8-8:30pm).  Works like a charm, and helps me sleep much better than normal.  HOwever, I've been hurting around 4-5pm everyday (that's when the aches and stiffness really start acting up again) so I've been taking the ultracet around then, which means that it wears off around 10 or 11pm.  It doesn't carry me through the night.  I'm thinking about increasing it to 3X/day--I know that's what my rheumatologist is going to tell me tomorrow anyway--but it can make me very sleepy.  I'm trying to hold out until I can find a new drug (perhaps Enbrel) that will calm everything down, since the Humira is not working.

Erin, I agree, you should give your doctor a call.  It's worth a phone call anyway.  You've got so much going on, why risk something potentially serious?

Good morning/Afternoon

Yesterday i felt great, was limber and minimal stiffness. so i actually did laundry and the dishes yesterday. And today omg !! am i paying for it !! I woke this morning in tears again, and i guess i had been moaning for a while because when i open my eyes. Here is my dog my buddy, standing at the side of the bed beside me.......crying really loud, and whining at me. He was crying at me cause i was crying. AWWWW thats my puppy! We was freaked out cause i was crying. He is a 1 year old puppy.

eyes  geezaloo, what a moanin'!

here's to a better tomorrow.  {{hugs}} for all who are hurtin' today.  the weather is kickin' my butt (knees actually) LOL.  hope this storm passes soon. new shipment of HUMIRA came, so if the power goes out, i've lots of freezer packs! :-)                   had to treck out in the sleet to go to the vampire devil for my weekly stab. 

NOW I HAVE GRADUATED TO EVERY 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!! hooray yeah . just CBC/CMP and SM18 every 2 weeks.

 

i did call my GI yesterday.  said to sit tight until the ultrasounds on tuesday, don't push or strain or lift, take my meds, and try to get as much bedrest as possible.

the swelling went down last night...but back today. sad tired of complaining so i won't...LOL. tongue worse case scenario, if i feel worse...go the the ER.

 

Birthday is in 2 days!  yeah weeeeee.  yeah perhaps as i get older, i'll feel younger.

How goes it?  confused

It is Tuesday, and I'm at work, and you know what?  I'm not feeling it today, you know how somedays you just wanna go back to bed, not 'cause you feel bad, you just wanna go back to bed?  Well that's me today... Plus the hubby is going on a trip for work today, sad and I'm not real hip on that.  I know, I know, it's his job, but I don't like it when he is away from me.  nono   Selfish I guess.  I just hope he is not gone long.  sad Anywho - I hope everyone else is doing ok, we are supposed to get some rain today, but I don't think we are, I'm not in pain like I usually am when it rains, so we'll see... scool

Moanin' Ducky, I know how you feel. Maybe you can leave a little early today? Sorry hubby is gone - just for the day, or a few? I know it's hard. I forgot what you do (military something, right?) - can you shift your priorities and make your day "easy?"

We've been getting off and on rain and it's really getting to me....I know it could be way worse, and I try to tell myself that....but I'm so darn tired to boot all the time. We have the big trip/wedding coming up and I'm just dragging, my weight is going back up (I didn't even loose that much weight, but it felt good), I'm stiff or in pain, and now we are being told it is going to be cold and possibly rainy where we're going. I had been hopeful on some warm weather.

Yes, me and the hubby are both in the military, aircraft maintenance actually... he is in a "Secret Squirrel Unit", so I don't know how long he'll be gone or where he is going... :( All I can do is hope he will be home soon, and safe. Sorry the weather is poopy there, when are you going on your trip?

Hey Camama, when is the wedding?  And remember...like Dolly Parton said in Steel Magnolias, "....these thighs haven't left the house without Lycra since 16!..." tongue So don't sweat it, find something that fits right & compliments...ya never can go wrong with a good fit no matter what size.  I know you are workin' hard on losing some, but there are a lot of road blocks in your way especially health wise.  You'll be beautiful, don't worry. :-)

sad  Awe Duck, I know you hate when this happens.  I don't know how you do it. But I guess you can't help but be worried sick no matter how long it's been going on...I would be too!  Guess ya really never get used to it, especially in the military field of work. {{{{{ Big Hug }}}}}

So I'm just back from the hospital today.  Had the abdominal and pelvic ultrasounds today @ 9am. eyes Good Lord....I had to drink 3 liters of water! eyes   After the first 1 1/2 the girl checked to see if my bladder was full....NO!!!!!!  mad So then I'm funnelling seltzer (I hate to drink water) & then the doc checks....NOPE!!! confused So he thinks that I was dehydrated, thus the keg of liquid I had to down, BEFORE MY BLADDER WAS ACTUAL FULL.  Oy!  Double Oy! tongue

Was OK.  It did hurt. Now my tummy's sore & swollen.  The girl was like, "Umh...did you ever have surgeries?...because I can't find your other ovary." :-) Which was cute cuz I think she didn't wanna scare me! Nah...it's gone! tongue Along with a bunch of other stuff.  But everything was really cool to look at.  scool I had no clue WHAT I was looking at, but pretty neat nonetheless.  Get results in 4 days. Basically trying to figure out the abdominal swelling, bleeding, devil   funny menses and to check for adhesions devil   etc...{all the swell stuff that we oh so look forward to, yeah right}

Gotta mean coffee withdrawal headache...so am happy @ home with me cup o' joe.  Beat for the day, done! Wish it were bedtime, I'm exhausted.

Today has been a particularly bad day.  Again, I woke up and felt as if a truck had hit me head on...  Stiff, sore, achy.  Downed an ultracet before I even left my driveway (5:30am).  It's now 2:45pm and I'm dying to take another one, but need to wait until I get back to my girls' dance class this evening @ 5:30pm (60+ miles away).  Anxiously waiting on my stupid insurance company to process my Enbrel request and mail the stupid drug to me.  For some bizarre reason, that I can't fathom, my pharmaceutical insurance company (doesn't take care of health, just drugs) insists that I receive Enbrel from their "special" pharmacy, instead of my simply going to a regular pharmacist.  I had previously received Humira from Walmart's "special" pharmacy.  Waiting on the insurance company is pure torture.  I called them yesterday to inquire, and they said they received the faxed prescription from my rheumatologist--last Thursday.  As of yesterday late afternoon, they were still "processing" the paperwork.  This could take a long time, but I really hope not.  For those of you who have arthritis worse than me, I really feel for you.  If I'm experiencing a taste of how it can be, I want nothing doing. 

I'm gonna go and eat some chocolate.

ElCamino - I like your way of dealing (chocolate tongue  - that's me licking my lips ), unfortunately, that's part of why I have a weight problem since I can't exercise it off.  sad   I was sent my first dose of Enbrel a few months back (I still haven't started it) and it had to come from a special pharmacy that hand delivers it. Remicade was mailed to me from a special place as well. Interesting to say the least - helpful when you need your meds and are in too much pain to pick it up on time!

Ducky, big <<<hugs>>> to you, I hope hubby's trip is a short one. Though, I have to say the name of the unit! tongue Gave me the giggles.

Erin, I can believe you are dehydrated due to the amount of potty time you've been having for waaaayyy too long....I wonder if some of the symptoms you've been dealing with have to do with dehydration.

Okay, my son is breaking up....I better put him down for a surprise nap. :-)

The wedding, by the way, is this weekend in AZ - was hoping for warm weather, but I guess the rain we're having this week may hit there this weekend...oh joy <sigh> sad

I got something that 'works' but never could find that right outfit that says, "yup! you found me!" Oh well....it's not easy being a petite plus......going through my closet tonight I found some brand new jackets (I so desperately need) that I bought when pregnant for AFTERWARDS...and they don't fit......

If you were to tell me then that I'd be almost twice as heavy 5 years after having the baby than before, I'd have never believed it. I lost the weight after the first one, but never expected the health issues I've endured after the second one.

This is the best news I have had in a long while, it's menial but I'll take it....

I don't have Chlamydia or Gonorrhea!   yeah   Hooray! yeah

Well, it's not like I thought that I did or anything. tongue LOL. But it was nice to have lab results come in negative and NORMAL for a change!

eyes Geesh, I should go to the gyno EVERY WEEK! LOL. eyes

Rain's a comin' & me joints are a hurtin'. sad   And for some weird reason I don't know why, my jaw is throbbing so bad...can't chew. mad Aaaargh! Good thing I prefer the soft mushy stuff anyways.

Here's to a better tomorrow.

morning all,

Well as usual im a mess. This is a living nightmare i tell ya. I took my last Lortab lastnight, and now im gonna be without any pain meds for the next 2 weeks. I don't get my refill till the 22nd ouch!!.

Anyone got any they can spare?? lol. My appointment on the 22nd, im going to demand the doctor put me on Pred, the MTX hasnt seem to made any differance at all. The Lortabs relieve the pain for a couple hours, but not completely. Then it all comes rushing back again.

I am so sick of this already, and im a newbie still.

morticia...i think it's a good idea to be on prednisone being in the state you're in.  Lortabs, although they are for pain & yeah, we do need them for RA pain because it's so bad...they really do not help the joint pain! the MTX does, as will a steroid or any other NSAID. please, also discuss a TNF drug like Enbrel or Humira.

i know for myself, i can take 4 dilaudids @ 2mg each...and before ya know it...the joint pain is BACK again! mad it took me a long time to understand what my rheumy was saying,"narcotics do nothing to help RA joint pain"....but what he really was trying to say is: they hold NO antiinflammatory properties.

gosh, what about trying to move up your appointment?

if you're running out of pain meds too soon....it probably means you need a better pain med! something stronger or extended release perhaps.

 

i'm moanin' this morning too.  barely can walk. knees are throbbing and painful and the feet too. bummer.  and i really wanted to go for a walk today. maybe it'll get better by nightime.  then again, there are storms all around the area..so the dampness could be causing the throbbing (am due for steroid injections...so i better get to).

i hope everything gets a little better for everyone today.

tongue   GOOD MOANING ALL!  yeah How's it going?  Well, today is Saturday and I don't have to go back to work until at least the 27th!  scool But I am hoping to be out longer!  tongue I have leave scheduled through next week, and part of the week after, then I test for my next stripe (military thing) and then I have surgery, so I am hoping that with the time off from the surgery, I'll be out til the end of the month!  Hee hee hee tongue    As you can see, I'm FINALLY in a decent mood, only 'cause I love being on "vacation".  It's not really one but it is a break for me.  Thanks for putting up with the bee-och in me the past couple of weeks!  cool   

 

skull  Anyhoo- my back is killing me.. and I don't know why... has been hurting me a lot these past couple of weeks or so... wonder if the Enbrel isn't controlling the AS as well?  I dont see my rheumy til May, so we'll see how it goes.  I guess if it gets too bad I can go in before May, huh?  Weather is beautiful here today,  scool would love to go outside, but my daughter is grounded, nono so that mean's we all are... eyes Darn Darn Darn... oh well.  There will be other days right?  :-) Hubby is still gone, but I got an email from him, he's doing well!  Woo-hoo!

Erin, thank you for the reply. Ya i am in a pit of a bind, but i will work through it. Another part of my problem with having this Ra is i am deathly allergic to anti-inflammitorys. So they are out of the question. My swelling has gone down alot the past few days, but the pains still there. The idea of going on Pred terrifys me, i have heard nasty things about the stuff. Specially my sister, she was on it for two week in hospital once for Ashma and now she has Hypercranial Tension. And they say it was most likely from the Pred.

 

I talked to my dr' in Canada and she suggested i have the dr here test my TSH. My levels are probably off. Which makes sense, ive been on the same dosage for 2 years now. I hope you are doing alright :)

I'm back.  Didn't have time to check in much over the weekend.  Busy, busy, busy. Which is good, 'cause it keeps my mind off my old lady aches and pains.  Did I say old?  Not that old (just turned 38) yet, but I feel much much older on most days.  I start Enbrel tomorrow, and I'm very excited and hopeful that it will work for me.

Wasn't so bad over the weekend, but oy, my hips are aching horribly this morning.  Just took an ultracet, so hopefully that will kick in soon. 

Erin, sorry to hear you're not doing so well.  When do you see your rheumatologist next?  I hope you start feeling better soon.  It sounds like you have entirely much on your plate, and you deserve a break.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Ducky--chocolate was wonderful...............

elcamino, BEST WISHES with the Enbrel!  i do wish you well on it.

i don't know hat to do with myslef.  if it's possible to be in a flare and get a worse flare on top!  my left leg is completely out.  knee & ankle is like buckled and PAINFUL.  i have an appt with the rheummy in 2 weeks but i think i need it sooner.  need steroid injections in the knees. 

see the GI wednesday.

walking is not happenning!  friday was bad, a slow shuffle....and yesterday was a slow limp. 

i think i really want to start the Remicade sooner rather than later.

thoughts were to start in March....they wanted to wait for the Imuran & Humira combo to work? (don't think so!)  and to wait till the summer for Remicade.

when is enough enough?

i'm tired.
