Anyone have Sjogrens?

Hey Guys... a friend of mine was recently diagnosed with Sjogrens.. is there anyone out there that has this?  If so, I would like to hear how it effects you.. I have googled it and found some info on it, but would like to talk to someone who has it themselves.. any help would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks! Duck

Hi Ducky, I usually post on the lupus forum, but visit here once in a while because I have some arthritis due to lupus. You are welcome to post your question in the lupus forum because several members there have it - sometimes people with lupus develop secondary Sjogren's. My doctor thinks I am developing Sjogren's. I have very dry eyes and mouth and have developed tongue ulcers and my tongue is all cracked due to the dryness. Right now I have a mouth rinse that helps. I also know that there are prescription eye drops and also a pill that replace some of the moisture in the eyes and the mouth. I have read that people with Sjogren's may have dental problems and need to be really careful about not eating much sugar as well as making sure to take really good care of teeth and gums.
