hah, Yalinda you are so cool. in ode to peppermint i post in GREEN tonite.
Yalinda, i'm in nursing (you could get my full bio on my name panel) & i do prefer to incorporate the holistic side of nursing. i like doing that because it takes an army to treat chronic progressive diseases & i feel everything should go into treatment.
a true believer of medicine, natural therapies, boifeedback, and LOVE.
the peppermint is absolutely TRUE! peppermint in it's most beneficial form to help RA symptoms & overall well being is to take it in tea form. store brought is fine..but if you can fine a natural store or Trader Joe's or WholeFoods or any kinda small herb shoppe...they will make a bag of fresh tea for you (it's cheap!) & ya need a tea ball too. they can also make another tea infusion of peppermint & chamomile (chamomile is good for painful muscles and stress).
cinamon is a strong antiinflammatory for RA and is GREAT for RA taken as a tea. i buy the BIGELOW cinamon tea bags.
the topical peppermint or any of the menthol derivitives of course provide anesthetic to joints. be careful with CAPSASIN (the pepper oil) you'll be a HOT TOMALIE
funny thing: my neurologist that was taking care of the Lymes disease i had was also treating (or trying) to treat the RA. her best quote was, "Drink, Party & Fall In Love" The best RX to this date! LOL
please keep us posted on your peppermint quest! perhaps a "Peppermint Manifesto" will be in HW's arthritis future. LOL.
glad to have you here. ciao! erin
