Took new med last night, need advise

My neuro gave me some Restoril yesterday. He wants me to sleep better at night and said that may help with my migraines. However, about an hour after taking it, my hips, outside on the ball and socket part and groin area started hurting. Then it radiated down my legs, clear to my ankles. I've had this pain before, just not for this long. It still hurts after 12 hours. This is where the majority of my AS is. It feels like huge charlie horses that will not go away. I can hardly walk. I tossed and turned all night, kicked my hubby numerous times I'm sure. I'm glad he puts up with me and all of this health crap I have to deal with. I feel like on big train wreck. Anyway, does anyone have experience with Restoril, could this be a side effect of the drug, or do you think this is my normal AS crap? I'm unpatiently waiting for my rheumy and neuro's offices to open so I can ask. The pharmacy is even closed so I can't call them yet. Help!!! Patience is NOT one of my virtues. I want answers now and can't get to those "professionals" who can give them to me yet. I was hoping that since there are so many educated people and also those who have first hand experience with stuff, maybe you can help brfore the Dr. offices open.

It happened again last night. My conclusion is that it's the Restoril. I couldn't get hold of all 3 of my docs and no one called me. I'll try it again tonight and if same thing happens, I'm done with it. It feels like big charlie horses from the groin area and outer hips to my ankles. It sucks!

I've been looking in my pill book and nothing points to this either. Since I can't get hold of my neuro or my rheumy and the pharmacist seems clueless (kinda scary), I'll try it one more night and then I think I'm giving up. It just hurts too much. Imagine major charlie horses that no amount of stretching or moving around will aleviate. I don't know what else to do. I can't keep hurting worse than I already do, ya know?

To answer your question about it helping me sleep is no. It does just the opposite, keeps me up all night. Have left several messages at my neuro's office, no answer so I went to my PCP today. He said the Restoril is DEFINATELY the culprit. He told me not to take it and gave me some samples of Lunesta, which I'll try tonight. If it works I'll call either my neuro or PCP and get a scrip for it. Wish me luck. Thanks for the morale boost.

Much better today. Went to a pain clinic today. I fell and broke my tail bone back in June. It's not healing right. Hurts like it has since the day I broke it. I know the my AS has set into it now too. Anyway, doc was awesome. He's willing to do some things others were not. Working on getting my own TENS unit, increased my Celebrex. Here's hoping it works!
