Let us know what the doc says about your cough...not good. Coughing wipes me out! I'm already wiped out! I had a few good days the other week, but now I'm back to being constantly exhausted.

uh, but wait a minute monday hasn't ended yet!  haven't slept neither Duck!  geesh, if i woulda' known that...i'd been online on HW if everyone was up! boy it's been ONE LONG DAY. lol. could you go back on the Ambien?

thank you El for your concern.  and i hope you're doing ok.  the infusion, as the doc said, was going to be a long drawn out-all day process....AND HE WAS RIGHT. got there @9am, got premedicated for a 1/2 hour, got a drip of NS for a few minutes, and then they started the Remicade. 

he does it SUPER SLOW. 10cc for 1/2 hour than 20cc for 1/2 hour and then so on and so forth in increments of 10 until the bag is finished.  i believe i get a total of 150mg of the drug?  the total volume i don't remember, but it's at least a 500cc bag of fluid.  now, Remicade goes by weight...but doc's giving me more than what my weight comes out to.  he said it wouldn't hurt....could only help.  they did however keep a better watch on my BP. 

doing alright, had a fever last nite...guess that explains why i was up all night. 

next Remicade infusion is November 20, so me gets a vacation for a wee bit. but a ton of blood work in the meantime & doc appts.

hi everyone.... Asthma   thats what they gave me as a dx.  so i now have inhailers and some other meds to take.  i told them i noted it brought on by the cold air and 15 min later i was out of the office!  i got out to the lobby before the receptionist finished my pw!  i guess i didnt ask many questions to be honest.   it was cold outside i was coughing up a storm and he stated by what i told him he wanted to go with asthma.  i do have an antibiotic to take too i guess to cover some bases. dont have the name in front of me as i turned in the script.  i see the pulmonary guy in 1 week and hopefully will have my ctscan completed by then?  as my boss says they must be looking for some stray siamese cats fot my cat scan... hahaha .... hey where is that dave guy been lately.  ohhhhh david are you spying on us? hehehehehe  

well i got to go back to work  .... took the inhailer and i had a huge coughing gig so who knows? 

hey i was up til 1 last night but i didnt go online...... guess we could have had a party!!!!!!

Good Moanin everyone!    and how is everyone doing?

Good news on this end i was out yesterday in the cold and only had a few coughing episodes.  the only problem is that my so intelligent pulmonary doctor put me on two completely different meds for my cough! i am taking Advair 500/50 twice a day for asthma and 400 mg of Avelox to treat any possible infection in my chest.  so now i am better but from which med?  do i have this asthma or was it a bacteria infection in my chest?  so when i see him next week and wants me to stay on the advair for asthma will i have really had it? or not?  i was thinking about this last night and though what an idiot! But i am much better in just 2 days. 

i also have my ctscan on monday afternoon and my pulmy visit tuesday first thing.  so what will happen is he won't get the compairison results of my new and old ctscan in time for the visit.  i think i will try and change my pulmy visit to a later day that week. otherwise i will be wasting my time with no definative answers on anything, But i am better so i guess that is what counts.

any thoughts out there on if this was asthma or infection?  which med works this fast?  i feel like the old tootsie pop commercial "the world may never know."  hehehe    sry if u r to young to understand my silly joke.  ur loss.

So glad you are feeling better - my diagnosis   is that you had an infection that was causing (or worsening) an asthma attack...whether you have asthma or it was just a reaction to something that got worse with infection, who knows.

How's that? I think I can use Photoshop to print up a medical degree, whaddaya think?

I agree with El about the possibility of postponing the 2nd appointment until you have results from the 1st. Call the doc on Tuesday and see what he/she thinks. Why go an extra time if you don't have to?

joan sry u have been in so much pain...hope things get better soon. hey i kinda like our bj's i mean for a wharehouse and all.  when my kids were little they loved all the samples they gave out.... i never had to feed them lunch we went shopping at bj's hehehehehe.

so is anyone getting dressed for halloween? kids? my eldest daughter is a witch that i am having a bit of a problem with as i think it is too sexy  and my younger daughter is this guy riding an osterich. you may have seeen these if u have a party city? is that all over? anyway... last year i was a smarty pants! i saftey pinned smarties to my pants hehehehehe

I love the smarty pants idea as well as toxic waste! My daughter told me I should dress up like a pumpkin since I'm fat and round enough to be one!   Out of the mouth of babes....<sigh>

Erin, good luck today. I hope everyone starts feeling better soon! I"ve been achy all over, even in joints and bones that don't normally hurt me! What gives! I think my body is telling me I need to dress up this year as a creaky old skeleton!

Joan, is that raynauds casuing that constant burning? there isn't anything that the doc can suggest to help that out? That must be AWFUL!

lost all use of my silly right arm from carving my pumpkin! lol.  but worth it!  i'm sure it'll feel better soon.

the wind here in NJ has been tremendous! holey cow! up to like 50mph...boy did it make for a creepy weekend; the wind howled!

feeling crap!  so i had sushi, some veggies, later last night some cheese (oh heaven!) bread and wine...AND I'M SUPPOSED TO BE ON A LIQUID DIET!  hah. paying the piper; but man...staying on liquids is easier said than done...especially when there's food around. so, staying @ my honey's because the only thing he keeps in his fridge is beer (and mayo, ketchup, mustard) so it'll be easier to suck down Ensure & not cheat.  gotta rest the gut.

The fires aren't as bad, I think, right now, but I've been getting painful coughs that hurt my chest. . . . not liking them at all! It's (thankfully) not constant or even frequent - so, hopefully it's the fire pollution that will go away shortly!

Hubby is carving the pumpkins with the kids right now. I thought I'd take a break and check in with everyone! My fingers hurt bad tonight and I"m not doing any carving!
