Why would dr put me on solumedrol drip?

When I was in the hospital they put a lot of that in my IV. I figured it was for the arthritis, but don't see here where anyone else has had it. Any ideas?

I do! when i'm at the ER or when i get admitted due to RA...they run a bag IV of 150mg solumedrol. it works wonders for me. i had it every day for 5 days in august. it's for pain and inflammation due to RA or inflammatory arthritis and even Lupus.

the oral equivalent would be those solumedrol dose packs...the step down"dummy"packs. where there are 7 pills than 6 than 5 and so on etc...

Actually, yes, it did. After 3 days of it, I told them I was done with the IV pain meds and I felt so much better. They sent me home with the lortab and oxy after the 5th day.
