So scared for my friend

First let me say that I am so sorry for everyone's pain from Arthritis.

I may be on the wrong forum.

My friend has been a heavy drinker for a very long time.  A few months ago she was rushed to the hospital where the attending physician stated that she was suffering from Alcohol Poisionig.  She signed herself out of the hospital.  To make this short, 2 doctors told her that her liver and spleen were swollen and she has to stop drinking.  She went to a hematologist who told her she had Rheumatoid Arthritis.  She is giving herself shots of Embrel.

Her stomach is very swollen as her legs are also.  She feels sick all the time lately, but won't let her son's know about her liver.  She made me and her husband promise we won't tell them.

I went online and she has all the symptoms of Cirrhosis of the Liver.

In my opinion she is getting sicker by the day from drinking and not RT.

I don't want to lose my friend, but she is going downhill fast.

You are right, only a Rheumatologist knows with extensive blood work if you have RA.

She is blaming everything that is happening to her on RA.  She is killing herself.

I do understand that with RA you would have swollen joints.  Her entire both legs are swollen also her stomach.

She will not admit that she is so sick from drinking and what it is doing to her liver.
