Hips to Die for

 My hips are so painful and both shoulders, knees, hands  took Mobic but it's like nothing for pain. I went to Rheumy. last week she has run a battery of blood tests and all kind of xrays ($1500 worth) not counting an MRI on shoulders. I see her again next week for results. Hope I find some answers.

Years ago was on prednisone for quite awhile. has bad side effects would really not like to go on again. Long time ago had epidurils in tailbone done under xray 3 times a week apart. Painful but worked do not know what side effects could be but they do work. Had shoulders done recently it has helped a lot.

The problem being the pain is so many places. Thanks for caring.

Was diagnosed very positive by rheumitoligist(sp) after all of the tests and xrays etc. polymyalgia rheumatica, also severe osteoporosis.

Put on prednisone, fosamax, prescription vitamin D.

Hate taking prednisone but guess that is all I can do. She is a woman rheumy.with degree from Duke university. Liked her too, which is a plus.

I guess a final test, really determines the disease, the way she talked.

Been wanting to reply to you, sorry I haven't sooner..how are you doing? Haven't heard of the type of condition you have, but it's so great that you like your doc and are comfortable with her. Is the prednisone helping your pain yet? Sure hope you are feeling better!

Jody, the rheumy said I have Polymyalgia Rhematica.(sp)
Was put on prednisone, fosamax, prescription vitamin D for it and osteoporosis. Unbelievable how much better the pain is from the prednisone I am sure, even the bad side effects but they will come later. I feel almost normal until it wears off in late afternoon. I do to much knowing I will pay later but it is so wonderful being able to do work and play. also using Mobic for pain.
Have some pain free days, Fluffy (my cockapoos name) even gave him a bath today. : )
