Negaative Blood Tests Sjorgrens?

I am new to this forum but joined to find help and hope. Just turned 60 female.I have had several varying symptoms for a year. Started with GERD,(failed hiatal hernia surgery that resulted in a 40% retrograde esophagus and still have reflux) and gastritis. Then I developed excessive foamy, thick saliva 24/7 that I cannot swallow and dry mouth at night. The saliva has gotten thicker in the last two months and I am never free of it. I always have a mouthful and am clearing my throat of it all the time. Have to cough often as the thick saliva gets into my airways a little. Then came dry eyes (mainly at night), and now extreme flank rib pain, stiffness, fibromyalgia, and muscle pain. Also, have constipation and vaginal yeast.
My ANA was negative, sed rate negative , SSA negative and SSB negative. I was diagnosed by an ENT as Sjogrens just by the symptoms but am baffled as to why the blood tests are all negative. Is this possible or is it not Sjorgrens? Go to Rheumy on Wednesday.
Also does anyone have the thick foamy saliva and a way to help it be less annoying? Have tried drinking more water but that seems to make it worse.

Taking Atenolol 12.5 2x,Protonix 40mg 2X, Estradiol 0.5 mg 1x Prometrium 100mg 1x

Sorry no one has replied! I visit here sometimes but don't usually get much of a response. The forum that helps me the most is sjogrensworld. I know several people on that forum who are seronegative and test negative across the board. I find hard sour candies help me.

Most of my bloodwork was negative also. I had a positive ANA 1.16 and that's all. My lip biopsy was also negative. I am being treated for Sjogren's based on my symptoms. I just started on Plaquenil. I was told that it sometimes takes years for the other bloodwork to be positive.

I am a 61 year old woman who was very productive and energetic until 8 months ago when this started. My main symptoms are horrible fatigue that has disabled me, corneal swelling and mouth dryness that has affected my appetite and has caused me to lose 20 pounds. I also have developed a hiatal hernia and gastritis since this whole thing happened I also have weird symptoms like rapid heart rate, feelings of eye and head pulsing, and what feels like fluid in my ears. I am still be checked out to rule out other things but Sjogren's seems the most likely diagnoses.

I am about to have a lip biopsy done since my Neurologist suspects Sjogren's based on the fact that I have been diagnosed with UCTD with ANA positive 1:160 but SSA and SSB negative, and I have small fiber neuropathy in my arms and legs (positive QSART sweat test on 2 occasions). Apparently about 1/3 of Sjogren's patients do not have positive SSA or SSB, and for that reason lip biopsies are performed since 1/3 of the time the labs do not come back positive even though the symptoms all fit.

For me, the small fiber neuropathy is the main indicator to my Neurologist that the undifferentiated CTD diagnosed by my Rheumatologist in 2008 may actually be Sjogren's.

I will post once I get the biopsy done to give more info.

My rheumy told me that your blood work can change from day to day and I
think that medicine your on can also interfer with the bloodwork.
Also, you can get a negative results from a lip biopsy as well, especially when your
in the early stages of the disease. I wish there was a more conclusive test...
I would also recommend everyone get their eye's checked as eye drops should be started
if your experiencing dry eye's...
PS the lip biopsey can be painful, once the numbing meds wear off...ice the site with ice cubes
to help and eat cool mashed potatoes, plain regular vanilla ice cream and drink plenty of water...

For minor cases of Sjogren's, you can use any OTC eye lubricant without having to have an expensive eye appointment.

I had the blood tests some time ago and they were negative, but either the severe dry eyes, nose, mouth, skin, etc. and constipation are Sjogren's or they are from the 3 tramadol pills I take daily. I even wake up at night and wash my eyes which feel full of grit. I'm extremely sensitive to meds with preservatives, only tolerate Gen-Teal brand eyedrops and gels. Ayr gel for nose at night stings but helps some.

I don't want the lip biopsy, too many other problems right now - sinus surgery coming up, then maybe shoulder or stomach. Are there any other definitive tests? Should I ask for a repeat of ANA, etc?
