What meds do you take for sjogrens that you find provide relief for your symptoms

Hi all - I was wondering if anyone was willing to share what medications they are currently taking for sjogrens and what symptom relief they are receiving from the meds (i.e. plaquenil has helped fatigue), etc.

I am only on plaquenil and am not finding enough relief.

Hi Finallyadiagnosis. I had lupus before being diagnosed with Sjogren's, so lupus is my primary disease and Sjogren's is secondary. All of the meds that I take for my overall autoimmune symptoms are given for lupus, but effect Sjogren's.

There are medications made for dryness of all the mucous membranes. Here's some of what I take:

Dry mouth: Biotene toothpaste, ACT mouthwash, Biotene Oral Balance gel at night, gum & candy sweetened with xylitol, Vaseline rubbed on my teeth

Dry nose and sinus: per my docs- 600 mg Mucinex twice daily, Claritin once daily, Bacitracin or Polysporin antibiotic gel rubbed inside my nose each night

Dry eyes: over the counter drops preferably without preservative

Dry vagina: prescription Vagifem and OTC Replens

Lupus is primary and sjorgrens secondary for me.   I take plaquenil and was on predisone for the lupus.

I take evoxac 3 times a day for mouth dryness as well as using the Biotene products.   I also drinks lots of water.

I use normal saline nose drops as well as polysporin for the nose dryness.   Vick Salve at night.

Restasis for the eyes.

My ears bother me and stay stopped up.   Doctors have been no help and I don't know what to try for that.

I have a prescription for Esterase for the vaginal dryness.

I get my second Rituxan infusion tomorrow and hope that will help  a combination of things.  Hope everyone has a good day.

I have noit quite the diagnosis for sjogrens, but my rheumatologist prescribed cevimeline which has been a miracle.

Hello! I have found that Salagin is helpful. I will be on the lookout.
