Hi Everyone:
I have been reading some of the posts. I have posted on several other boards. I have not been diagnosed with Sjogrens. I do have neck pain and severe headaches. Any pain in your head is a headache.
I have Osteoarthritis in my neck. An MRI diagnosed the OA in my neck. It is also visible on x-rays. A full body bone scan earlier this year sees the neck OA and mild uptakes from neck to collarbone, collarbone to shoulder blade, wrists, lower back, knees and foot articulations. I have chronic daily headaches. I do see a Headache and Pain Relief Doctor. There is something going on with my eyes. In the mornings I often wake up with swollen sore eyes. I can't see properly until I rinse my eyes with water. I am so tired and my eyes are sore till about
10:00. My Optometrist said my eyes are dry and I should use drops at least 3 times a day. I buy Clear Eyes or Visine. I used to use allergy drops but I was told the eye drops are better. She has not prescribed drops.
I was first referred to a Pain Management Clinic in a Hospital. I am in Canada. I was being helped by Neurologists as the Clinic had no Rheumatologists on board. The same Hospital's Arthritis Department would not take me on as a patient - said my condition was being managed sufficiently. The Pain Management Clinic said I needed long term Physiotherapy in a community environment. They did not have the resources to provide Physio long term. They were thinking of trying botox but that did not happen. The Neurologist failed to take the time to write to my Family Physician. The Neurologist told me that I would hear Fibromyalgia mentioned by Doctors - there really is no test for it. I also have jaw pain. A Dentist at a different Hospital said it is Neuralgia. I have been attending a Physio in a heated pool and I see a Registered Massage Therapist every four weeks. I have been to 3 different Physiotherapy firms and also tried acupuncture. I have made small progress but have had many setbacks.
I have now been dealing with chronic pain for 12 years. I get nerve blocks for the headaches every 4 weeks.
I am now in worse shape. My Husband and I had a car accident almost 2 weeks ago. I was the passenger. I have been injured by the seat belt. The bruises are healing but I still have much chest pain. Could also be whiplash of course. I am going for a follow up with my Family Physician.
I think I am not fixing in any reasonable way but I know I was in better shape prior to the accident.
I do also have neurological problems. Nerve damage, possibly from a medication. Does Sjogrens impact nerves? I certainly might ask my Doctor about
Sjogrens. I only know for sure that I have Osteoarthritis. My neck is the worst as well as severe headaches.
Take care.
