Hello...

I don't have Sjogrens, but I do suffer from dry mouth which is especially bad during the night. I wake up multiple times throughout the night with my mouth so dry my tongue is stuck to my cheek or the roof of my mouth.

Trying to figure out what I can do about this I came a cross the Saliwell webpage. Has anyone here used a Saliwell GenNarino for chronic dry mouth? I am running out of options and am willing to try anything.

I have never heard of the Saliwell GenNarino - I went and looked it up. It seems a little odd - and not sure it's approved in the US. (Of course, you may not be in the US.)

Have you tired other options first? I know many people find help thru oral medications. Are you under the treatment of a rheumatologist?

Thanks for the reply Lynnwood. All I have tried is oral sprays, biotene mouthwash and xylimelts. None of them work. I have spoke to my doctor about this and he tested my for diabetes and Sjorgen, both were negative. I then spoke to an ear, nose throat doctor and he did not really have much to say. I have not seen a rheumatologist. I do have Crohn's disease but cannot find anything to say this may be the cause of my dry mouth.

I really need to deal with this. Firstly I wake up about 5 times a night for water and then because I drink so much water i wake up a few times to go to the bathroom. Is a rheumatologist the type of doctor that I want to see for this?

What kind of a test was done for Sjogren's? By what kind of Dr?

Sjogren's is an autoimmune disease and a rheumotogist is the Dr who deals with such diseases. It can also be diagnosed by an eye Dr measuring the amount of moisture (or lack thereof) in your eyes.

There are a couple of medications that help the salivary glands function better, hopefully one of our members with experience with them will come along and help you out soon. (I have dry eyes, ears, and nose, but no mouth issues.)

I can't recall what type of test was done, though I am pretty sure it was a blood test. I also have dry nose but if I use cream in the morning it does not bother me through the day. I do not have any problem with dry eyes or ears.

I have dry mouth also a lot at night, I have I little lump under my tongue probably blocked saliva gland hope I can get it unblocked fast good luck.

Hi Bubba070. Since you have Chron's you may be on a medication that is causing your dry mouth. As for OTC dry mouth treatment, I use Biotene toothpaste every day and occasionally use Oral Balance gel which is made by Biotene. To reduce your trips to the bathroom, keep a glass of water and an empty glass by your bed. When you wake, swish water in your mouth and spit it into the empty glass (don't swallow it). There is prescription medication for dry mouth that you might consider.

Lastly I've had blocked salivary and parotid glands. It's painful, but my docs ask me to wait for the blockage to dissolve, dislodge, etc on it's own and they have cleared. Love, Butterflakee
