Is RA the only autoimmune disease that can cause symmetrical joint pain, or can it occur in Sjogren's too? I never have obvious swelling in any of the joints that hurt. But sometimes I do have some very subtle swelling, and the joints FEEL swollen inside (between the bones) in addition to the pain. My hands pretty much always hurt, though sometimes I will have one side that is worse than the other. Sometimes my left hip will be in agony, while the right is fine for example.
I am finally making progress with a new rheumy, but he's thinking more Sjogrens (which I know can cause joint pain too). It does seem that logically speaking, the argument could be made for both RA and Sjogrens. And I've read these two often go together.
