Welcome to our
forum debter. In the Sjogren’s Syndrome Foundation book, I couldn’t find any
mention of drugs which cause dry eye (but there is a whole list which causes
dry mouth- just ask and I’ll post it). The book does mention that allergies
should be considered.
It’s very important
to know that disruption of the normal tear film can cause possible damage to
the ocular surface, so treating dry eye is important. There are many OTC lubricants, both with and
without preservatives.
Examples of
lubricants without preservatives: are Theratears, Bion Tears, Tears Naturale,
Optive free, Systante PF, Soothe, Lacrilube ointment
I really think you
should talk to your doc. Perhaps he/she can put you on a different medication
or give you advice concerning your dry eyes. I hope this was at least a little
helpful. Love, Butterflake
