I got to my new doc today, the Endocrinologist. Carried 10 years of tests and the poking and shrugging and talking me."you are sick, you have to just learn to cope with your illness" I pay the doctors and they say....everything is normal. l always leave thinking yes, I'm sick but this is not normal. 6 months ago my Rheumatologist said, lets check your thyroid. IT WAS out of range, she said follow up with your primary. I did...everything is OK. So move ahead 2 weeks. I'm by this time sleeping 20 hours a week. This went on for 3 weeks when I showed up on my pain management doc just trying to figure out what was going on. She said....you are presenting with symptoms of Ms. Took 2 weeks to find a doc and get in. .He did an exam like had never had before. He did MRI which are costly and routine blood work. Blood work came back.....I had almost no vitamin D, NoB12 and my thyroid was at critical state and I was having migraine headaches. So he started the ball rolling.
VIT. D and Vit. B12 SHOTS EACH WEEK. Off today to the endocrinologist where I found out my thyroid had shut down.
Tonight I got to take my 1st dose of synthroid.
Said all that to say this: I knew what she was going to say before I walked in. Why?? Because I took every record i had in with me and pointed out that all three of the tests that were run had been run every every 2 to 3 months over a 5 year time period. OUR DOCTORS DONT PAY ATTENTION ! They spend way too much time trying to get out of the room once we get them in and shake their heads and try to make us feel like all our issues are in our heads. They have no concept what it means to be ill and we cant possibly have all this going on and cant possibly hurt all the time. Arrrrrrg!
Ok, Im done venting. Thanks for being there for me.
