Hi its been a while but I thought id let u know about how my sjogrens went into remission. My sjogrens was secondary sjogrens, caused by primary biliary cirrhosis, an autoimmune liver disease. A single blood test for antimitochondrial antibodies came out highly positive. Once started on ursodiol, the medicine for this condition, it took many months but I have my face back and no more swollen glands. My thyroid has also gone back to normal. Ursodiol is pretty easy to tolerate, it has no side effects for me. I still take plaquenil and evoxac. My disease seems to be progressing in different ways now. I have developed myasthenia gravis and this is rough sometimes. I found some of the dryness I have was not from sjogrens but myasthenia gravis because the mg med fixes it. Also some really bad face pain. I am really lucky the ursodiol works and I hope others find the things they need. After 20 relentless years it did go away. So don't give up, keep searching for answers.
