This is a late reply. I just joined. I had a problem with a constant salty/sour taste (but not bitter taste). It turned out to be LPR, similar to GERD except that the acid goes all the way up into the throat and even the mouth. One difference between LPR and GERD is that with GERD, you definitely feel the acid/reflux. With LPR, you usually do NOT feel the acid. If you haven't figured out what you have yet, it may be worth checking out LPR. Other symptoms include a cough, too much throat mucus, trouble swallowing, hoarseness, a lump in the throat.
