What Are The Statistics of a Bi-Polar Person Going off of their Meds?

My husband went off his meds 2 days after a month-long psychiatric stay.  What are his chances of staying on again as he being very convincing of staying on them.  My gut, says no - but I'm filing for a separation (so he gets supervised visits with our son) as he is wanting to be with him alone.  If you know my story at all - he badly assaulted 2 nurses and physically abused me 9 years ago.  I'm just nervous of putting him over the edge again, when he's just been diagnosed and on meds for less than 2 months.  Been on meds for 3 weeks.  I'm nervous and also nervous for him.  He's starting a new job on Monday  and although the timing isn't the best, I cannot wait any longer and have him take Noah alone when I have no legal grounds to prevent him unless there is a separation.

Good luck with the separation. For his sake I really HOPE he does stay on his meds. it's probably the only thing that's going to help him at this point. But I don't have access to any statistics, I'm afraid.
