Was doing so well then BAM as usual started doing the daytime zombie depression then early evening lets go to the mall and party thing. I cannot handle being homebound allday then wanting out at night. Doesnt go wel with married life. I am not into the sex or nightcclub scene, just get an energy rush and feel like "myself" at night. Now will start Effexor XR tomorrow a.m after a long time off it(possible inducor of mania?) So with Neurontin, Trileptal, and lamictal(and benzos) I am back in the crazy RX saddle again.

Join the club....although I'm stable now it has taken over
a year and 6 med changes. It's great that you realized
something was wrong and was aware enough to do something
to get better. Pat yourself on the back and good luck with the new meds!

Do you think changing your meds to taking them at night would switch your habit?

Well, taking neurontin at night makes me unable to sleep, and effexor at night not the best(from past exp). Lamictal and trileptal help with sleep. I hate being on an anti-depressant again cuz it is just yet another med that may or may not help, and possibly can make things worse.
Red, I had been stable for only a few months and am really annonyed that the rollercoaster could be starting again. The memory of that awful year of depression is still crystal clear. I am still hearing my "music"(songs that play in my head when anxious). Soooo tired of it. Want life back!
Well, I know things could be much, much worse but I still have the darn not again thing.

Well, the Effexor was a flop. literally. This morning I remember sitting at the kitchen table and telling my husband I felt funny and not to leave for work yet please. Next thing I know he had dragged me 50 feet toward the garage to take me to the ER. he called 911 but hung up. Figured he would be faster. My head went back, eyes open and I was totally unconscious for at least a couple minutes.
I have taken Effexor for years and years before but not with neuontin,lamictal and trileptal...so who knows. We figure a severe blood pressure drop or arrythmia. Fortunately I woke up so I am ok but have been so tired all day. This was from ONE pill taken yesturday morning!
Well, maybe the shock will have knocked out my depression.Mood is ok, body, getting there.

Oh scary! I'm so glad you're okay. Holy cow. Are they sure it was the med? I would want them to check your other vitals too. Yikes!

Hi Serefena, it could be the combo of meds that did it. Never will know. No more Effexor taken and no probs again. The only problem is my mood is sucky and I am just so tired, so tired.

I didn't do well on Effexor either, but I had nothing like that kind of experience. I just got the brain zaps. Hang in there -- there's something out there that will work better. Don't give up.
