Just saw doctor and wanted to know thoughts on Zyprexz...

I took it for 3 days and was a passed out zombie...it
didn't work with my body chemistry...but I know it helps others...

Hi April,

I've heard it described as a miracle drug: for some people it really works super well. But it has a pretty common weight-gain side effect. If that's not something you can handle, you should talk about it with your doc. Remember though: a few extra pounds might be worth the balanced mood. But if you have health issues, you should definitely let your doc know.

Hi gang

Im on 1000mg of lithium each day and I was prescribed zyprexia to help lift my mood as i was just feeling 'flat'.  i took one pill and the next day i was like a zombie. i told the psych that I would deal with things on my own, which i did.

It does work for a lot of people though so dont get too worried.  if ever you are concerned just speak to your dr straight away.

I have been on zyprexa for about a year now. I have not had too many issues with it. I made me feel like a zombie for a few weeks after starting it, but it eventually went away. It has helped me greatly with my mood. but on the downside it has made me pack on a little bit of weight. Which is really hard to get rid off, even with proper diet and exercise. I feel like that is the only downside to zyprexa, that it makes you pack on some weight. Please talk to your pdoc about all the ups and downs with zyprexa before counting it out.

I have been taking zyprexa for a long time now and it really works for me. When I wasn't taking it I felt all shaky and out of control inside. But on it , I feel normal and my moods are much easier to control. Good luck with it.

took zyprexa ten years ago put on 75 pounds 40 of that that i was never able to lose ): dont like it but works for some people.

Gained 60 pounds many years ago and have not lost the weight yet.  Enough said. Check the stats on the weight gain.  If you fight depression a lot, weight gain does not help with that whatsoever.
