I was thinking about how one of the newer people left a post saying how helpfull it was to read thru the topics. What if the forum moderator put a thread at the top for newbies to read. This would include a post by all of us, about who we are, what bipolar has done to us, what has worked and what hasnt, things like that. Let me write a short example.
Welcome to the BiPolar Forum. Now before you go any further take a deep breath, read these posts and understand that you can live with this desease and be quite successful also. I am a 42 yeal old married man who is diagnosed BPII. Currently i take a medication called Respridone to control my manias. I came to be diagnosed 2 years ago after a series of ....................................................... YADA YADA YADA YADA.
I thought this might be a good place for us to leave messages of hope and understanding for people who are paniced and scared. I know that you all have been great for me to listen to and hear what you suffer thru and from. Some of you are like copies of the way the illness presents in me and its nice to know i'm not alone. Also this way if you take a break from the board for a while your post would still be there for others to read months/years from now.
So i am bouncing this idea off you all, especially the new ones who come around here. Do you think this would help you out at all? Does this sound like something the older crowd would like to do?
Thanks for listening.
Bill
