Seroquel XR

I gave my fiance the OK to do it. I thought about it for 3 days, but I didn't realize it would cause me so much anxiety!

He is amazingly patient, steady, and very good with my son. Usually better than I am.

Definitely a keeper.  And I need to work on being healthy so I can keep him.  He is not too thrilled - I had two REALLY BAD weeks.

Everything is good if my current (new) meds continue to work as well as they have for the last 2 days.

Just when I think everything is normal and fine...

I woke up with eye pain and it took me a while to realize that it was congestion from the Seroquel. (I've also started snoring at night!)

It was so bad! The congestion was cutting off blood supply to my retinas. I'm pretty freaked out. I laid in bed all morning and dragged myself to lunch when my fiance came home. By then the side I was laying one HURT, but the other side was fine.

I had some of my neighbor's homemade HOT salsa and that has made a big difference. I can get up and around now although it isn't comfortable.

My eyes still feel a little "off."

seroquel does give you vivid dreams i think. i also have started talking in my sleep since i started seroquel. its nothing major, but if someone rouses me from deep sleep, i will talk to them and not remember it the next morning. my boyfriend said the second week i started taking it, i sat up in bed around 2am (he was still up) and said i had a plan to get santa clause... then went back to sleep immediately. :P

I'm a patient of many different drugs but right now im on 600mg Seroquel XL each night and because it's extended release I don't have to take any during the day. I once had an awful experience with the normal Seroquel/Quetiapine during the day and had to go home sick.. it was like I couldn't concentrate and my brain went into panic mode when I needed to be aware of what was going on with my work.

So my Dr decided that taking the XL version of the drug was preferable to me having to frequent the A&E departments with an abulance and it has worked perfectly. Apparently the normal Seroquel in the UK costs £77/month, but the XL version costs £2000 a month, but given my severity of my bipolar the NHS decided I should have the more expensive meds.

It works for me, I take it at 9pm every night along with my other meds (Lamotrigine 75mg x2 /day) and ad-hoc Diazepam and have a very happy balance right now. I've not experienced any ill effects and taking the meds a couple of hours before sleep makes for a peaceful night and bright tomorrow. As long as your doc understands your condition and what meds are available (I understand the NHS is different to other places) then you can get the medication that's right for you.

Right now I've had my meds a couple of hours ago, and a couple of diazepams to help me sleep and it all works well. I don't know if this will help anyone but this is my first post and I hope people relate and can talk with me about any questions you might have.
