Hello everyone, I am still fairly new here and I will finally be able to see my physicahitrsit on the 27th! I am on Zyprexa and Lamictal! Still having like anxiety type issues and weird head stuff, it is driving me nutts. I have only been on the lamictal for 3 days now the zyprexa for about 2 weeks! Is it ever going to get easier? Or better? Thanks for listening!1

Hi kitty,

I'm not familiar with Zyprexa since I haven't taken it, but it looks like neither of your medication is intended to help with the anxiety. You should talk to your Dr. about the anxiety and see if you can have medication for your anxiety.

Sorry you are feeling this way kitty. I can definitely relate. It is hard to adjust to new meds. I found Lamictal particularly hard to adjust to. I felt like I had the flu all the time. And I started having bizarre side effects about 1-2 hours after taking it. Sometimes I was rambling and not making sense. Other times I couldn't talk at all and was having word retrieval problems.

Your psychiatrist will adjust your dosage very slowly because of the side effects. It is hard to get a medication combo that works for you. But it is worth it in the end. It is better to be on the road to stability than stuck in the cycle of mania and depression all the time

I was just diagnosed last year. Before that it was "major depression".
Most medications take about 5 weeks to work and yes it does get better I promise! I went through many medications before I found ones that would help me (ability,remeron,trileptal) and when they all started working my life totally changed! No more "weird" thoughts if you know what I mean..and the anxiety....gone! I was at a point of agoraphobia. I have suffered for years with this and to finally find the right medications is a miracle to me. To feel good and get up everyday and not hibernate in bed, unable to leave the house...I will never go back there again, ever. Be patient, but also pay attention to your thoughts because some of these medications can exhaustberate your symptoms..keep a journal too, that helps especially when you see your doctor.

  Yes it does get better. It takes time, but there are success stories everywhere with this desease.

  If you are open to treatment, to really wanting to get better and willing to make the changes to make it happen, then life will get better for you.

Thank you everyone!!! I have noticed that I have been having better days! I just have to keep hopeing that they continue to get better! Going to see my physochatrist on the 27th. Cannot wait, but things are looking up!
