I'm well atm and it is eerie.
So many things to do from being sick for so long, yet they seem doable in small chunks.
I am making slow progress without doing too much or getting overwhelmed.
I'm not doing things in a very organised fashion but I'm not going to beat myself up over that.
I haven't had much practice at normal health life for awhile, so I will cut myself some slack on that one.
I think it is really worthwhile appreciating and celebrating these times of health and contentment.
These are the times of respite that make a very cruel illness survivable.
It doesn't hurt that external situations are also going well in my life atm.
Anyhoo, just wanted to say the sun is shining, but not too bright.

Your posts indicate that you have good control and that the moods are
neutral, at least. Keep up the good work--whatever you're doing is working!

You absolutely have to enjoy the good times when they come along.

God I love these times!!!

To think other people are like this often and take it for granted...

Well the fact is they aren't sick, I am, and I'm going to keep managing it the best I can regardless of what it throws up to me.

Did I mention I am loving being well for the moment? :) hehe

Enjoy the 'sunshine'! Take good care of yourself, and hopefully it will last a long time. Take pictures, write journals or notes to yourself to remind yourself of why you're sticking with treatment and hanging in there at bad times. It's easy to forget the good times.

terrific post! As others have said and you realize, we MUST acknowledge and take advantage of the 'good' times. Taking advantage, to me, means simply seeing how different I feel compared to before and realizing that I CAN be well. I try not to make comparisons to 'healthy' people - those who seem to take the 'good' for granted - because they will never know what it's like to be me nor I them.

Sure, there was a time long ago when I wasn't suffering but it's so distant I can't remember. I do know how well I feel when the meds are working, even if to others my life appears tumultuous. I believe my suffering has made me stronger and more appreciative of life in general.

Acknowledging the good also helps me see that I can change my outlook even if the meds aren't enough. Keep looking at the sunshine and watch the little things in life - there are a million tiny miracles happening every second of every day - for they can take you to a world beyond what you think you see.

p.s. - I can now remover Colitis from my list as I have been in remission now for over 6 months!

I'm so glad that others are also enjoying the sunshine or remembering it and knowing it will return.
Life is hard and life with mental illness harder, and those times of peaceful clarity are so special.
I'll keep looking for those tiny miracles, no matter how tough the day happens to be.

  I love a great day out in the sunshine. Be it bicycling, or hiking with thor. Or even a great drive in the car to a place i have never been before. Sunshine is my big thing, i need it and crave it. Where i live in Delaware we get lots of sunshine. Where my mom lives in pittsburgh they get lots of "gray" days. Not bad, but overcast. I can really feel it affect my moods when i am home there. Even when mom and i are having a great time, its the overcast that screws me up.

     And the thing is, a day outside doesnt cost a thing.
