Peter UK overnight leave.

Hi Guys,

Firstly, thanks fo r the posts of support for me and my wife ( i have just read them today)  We are both so grateful for your love and compassion.

I am feeling much better and, as such, my pdoc has given me some home leave.  I return to hospital Sunday evening.  I am hoping to be discharged at Mondays ward round but my pdoc might want me to try a full weekend leave - followed by a weeks leave before she is happy to discharge me.  We shall see.  I have been in hospital for five weeks now and can't wait to get back home to my wife, family and friends.  I miss posting so much as well.

I really went through the ringer this last episode and will probably share my experiences when another member might benefit from them when they need support and hope.  Hope that makes sense.

So glad you're home again, Peter, if just for the weekend. That's most encouraging. I know your family are delighted to see your shining face at home again.

The brain is an amazing thing, isn't it? Doctors are learning so much more as time goes on, and the hope for a cure is still strong in all of us, I think.  Take care and look forward to the day when you'll be home again permanently.

I have a strong feeling that before long, psychiatry will be offering gene replacement therapy for this illness.
