new counseler

Today was not so great. I started with at new place that has counseling and med management in one place covered by medicad. I was less than happy. The counselor's highest education is a BA in Christian Ministry. His main focus is on men's mental health. I am a WOMAN. He asked me to tell him a little bit about myself. He didn't have much to say and didn't ask any other questions. Our hour session was only a 1/2 hour. Then I found out that the soonest a med manager could see me was May 2nd. Unbelievable! Luckily my family doc will continue to prescribe my med's. I am discouraged. I was hoping this would be a really good addition to my care. Oh well.

Hey is there anyone out there who is on disability and is still on medicaid? I am worried that my disability will kick me out of medicaid.

Hi CG,  sorry to learn of your concerns.  We have a different system in the UK but it still is a nightmare in terms of claiming benefits as I have just experienced after retiring on medical grounds.  What a performance!  Still, things tend to work out in the end.  Wishing you well.
