When the tension gets bad...go out for a walk...as soon as you feel it coming on. Perhaps, even set up some things that you 'must do' every day to get out of the house. Like therapy, errands, a friend who is sick and desperately needs you...you can make this up and pretend it is someone else...but it is really you! I know I tell a white lie or two but hey...you really are taking care of a sick friend. Also, keep your words light and polite. Don't get swept into the drama. I usually put a shield of white around myself for protection and I say the serenity prayer a lot! Also it,sounds like you have
lowwwww expectations. That is good. Think of the worse things that can happen and if anything nice occurs it will be like a gentle river flowing through your day! Like a surprise.
