Help No Meds

 Greetings  I have had a bi-polar disorder for 30 yrs. I have an episode about every five to seven yrs at witch tome my medication has to be adjusted   I have been taking Haldol / Cogentin and 30 mg of Ambilfy for three years. My problem is I was accepted into the to needymeds program, but will not get meds for 7 days . Have been taking the Haldol and cogentin but haven't taken the Ambilfy for two weeks. I haven't the money to get them and my doctor has no samples. I feel as if I am slipping and very afraid of loosing it . Is there any thing I can take or do until my pills arrive   

We each seem to have an 'area' that cause us problem's when we are 'loosing' it.
If it is finances, give someone you money and credit cards.
If it is SH, plan on having someone with you most of the time and at minimum checking in with you very often. Sort out the other meds that you have so you have enough for each day and put the rest with someone else or a difficult place to get to.
Plan for something to do in a few days so that you have something to look forward to.
If you have ins. see your dr more frequently.
Exercise, Walk until you can walk no more.
Maybe sleep more than usual, if you can.
Call the help lines as often as necessary.
Run cold water on your wrists or take a quick cold shower.
Or take a soothing warm bath. Not to hot because it can make you woosie.
Do something for someone else, a neighbor, an older person.
Make a phone call to someone who maybe having a tough time. There is someone better off than you and someone worse off than you. Just don't get caught in someone elses drama.
Eat well. Good lean protien, lower your sugar intake,(but don't let that make you grumpy)
Sit in a public area. Library, Coffee shop, community center, I never want to make a scene, so being in a public place helps me.
Yoga, Pilates, stretching
Set a schedule for your self. 9am wake, stretch etc, 9:30 eat healthy breakfast, 10go for walk, you get the idea.
You can do this. Most of us here have face similar situations and have made it through. You can do this.
