I am about
to lose my job because I have been getting complaints from co workers that I smell. And I don't care. But I need my job and I need to care but sometimes it just isn't there. In fact, most times it isn't there. This has been going on for a year now. I know it is from depression, I take 3 medicines for that. Zoloft, Abilify and Buspirone. But I just changed to Latuda, anyone ever heard anything about
that one? I have a therapist that is helping me with this, but some days it really worries me. The worst part is, I don't want to shower and I know it could cost me my job if I get sent home again because of the smell. But that doesn't seem to be enough to convince me to get my **** together. It is so frustrating to have my supervisor ask me if I took a shower this morning and I lie and tell her yes, I did. Because I am too humiliated to admit that it is a chore to do it, so some mornings I don't. On top of that problem, I have an apartment with a soaked carpet because the maintenance man won't come into my messy apartment to work on the problem. He lies to the owner and tells him that there is no leak and that I have boxes all over the place so he can't wet vac. I have spent over a month cleaning up the boxes so he can get to the floor, but he won't come and take care of the problem. I am feeling so hopeless and frustrated over all this. I don't know what to do anymore. Is there anyone out there with any words of advice or encouragement because I don't know how much longer I can stand this.

Hello Torri,
Welcome to the forum!
I am sorry for what you are currently going through. Depression does make us not want to do things that we need to do.
Think about
your job first. You mentioned that you need it? If this is the case, then you have to work toward keeping it. With depression, I know that taking a shower can sometimes be a very tedious task. However, we have to push ourselves sometimes. You can get through this but you must try!
If taking a shower is the only thing that can cause you to lose you job, then don't let it happen. Your job is important to you and you need it. Think about
this and take a shower. I would suggested you o something to make it fun!
Do you like scented candles? Maybe you can have one in the bathroom while you take a shower. You can also put on some of your favorite music and listen to it while showering.
So, you'll have a nice scented candle making the place smell wonderful, and you'll have your music. You can sing alone and have fun showering.
Please know that you are not alone. We are here for you. You can get through this but you have to push yourself and keep trying. Things will eventually get better once you keep trying.
