Corey-jon I can only speak for myself, but I am more than hapyy to speak to you hear any time. I am a very early riser and have the baord up most of the day. But I don't have a pager, and I admit I would feel uncomfortable speaking with someone I didn't know via pager anyway. As my close friends can attest, I don't even use my cell phone very much!!! no i dont talk. i dont speak. i stutter very bad. i type via yahoo or msn only.   i dont answer phones or have a phone. sooo that clears that up. thats HOW i pager.

I'm sorry that you felt that your first experience with this forum was not pleasant and that you see us as snobs for not replying. I hope that you will come to realize that this is a group of people who are all challenged by BP and who have our own reasons for choosing to post or not. I hope you will find that this forum is a family of caring and sensitive people who choose to find fellowship through HW. Like you, we are affected by what is written (or not written) here and work hard to be compasionate to one another. Many of us are timid to post if we do not know how to respond and I am like the others and don't use MSN, Yahoo or Pager.

Please know that this is a place where you can come to share and participate in the forum with a group of people who fight the same struggles. We do not laugh at, judge or criticize, but hope that you will find some comfort in being among friends who know what it is to battle BP.

It is very nice to meet you Corey-jon. My name is Sandra. I am BP1, a rapid cycler with psychosis. I also don't do very well around people. I don't remember ever Not being BP. I remember episodes as a very small child. I, like a large number of BPs was abused as a child, but that seems to have given me the quickly dx'd PTSD. Oh well, lilke you, I still work full time, but am lucky enough to have a job that keeps me very close to home. I am an apartment complex manager and don't have to face people if it gets to bad for me. I am fortunate that I have a co-manager who will take over if need be. I still don't know what pager is so if you could fill us in that would be fantastic. Again it is great meeting you, Sandra

Anyhoo, I'm BP 1 rapid cycler with psychosis also (tho I haven't had any psychotic episodes in a year and a half, phew)!   Im pretty much here all the time, except when life comes around and I have to do stupid things like responsibilities, lol. 

I'm sorry you have such a hard time with people, I am that way, too, but not to the extent that you have it.  I hate going in public, I can't stand to be next to anybody in line, or at the movies (aisle seat a must!).  I have to move way far away from someone walking toward me, becuase I can't stand my personal space invaded by a stranger.  But I have found that pretty much all of us are like that.  Before I was medicated I was the life of the party all the time, but could be that way for a limited time only, and of course while drunk or other.....  Back  by popular demand only, lol!  Paranoia does run rampant with BPs, as does a lot of other weird stuff.  Oh, well, at least we're unique!

Besides drag racing, what else do you do for fun?  Are you artistic in any way?  I paint, draw, used to play piano before I sold it for a horse that I coudln't afford to keep but did anyway via cash advances on the credit card lol.  I used to show until about 5 years ago.

When did you get diagnosed BP?  Did you have symptoms as a child?

I am Shannon 2. I am a fourth year nursing student diagnosed as BP1, rapid cycler last dec-what a shock that was. But I do well with my meds, thank goodness for them.

I'm sorry your initial visit here was a disappointing one, I am glad you stuck with us and shared your story! Bravo to you for hanging in there all these years, it is not an easy task. You are among people who understand, that's for sure. I am at a loss for words tonight, sorry. Again, thank you for sharing, and condolences for your many losses...

sure you can:)  corey always made me sound like i was five lol.  some call me cj, jonny, core, corey, jon, c-jon (my mom calls me that).  i love depeche mode and i have tons of mp3s and i make cd for my car all the time.  i love canon d by pachelbel.  thats my fav piece especially techno:) i listen to techno dance on saturday night on the internet ckmf montreal.  louis was a police dog and his owner got sick. my dad had connections.  he cost a fortune. but hes my best bud next to douggie. ya i rapid cycle too. been about 3 months now. so far so good.  hugs shannons and psych nurse:)  my car is named baby

Hello again, I if you haven't read , am also Bipolar I. I rapid cycle like 10000 x a day. Well ot that much, had a scare the other day, but I am feeling better now. I am I think that's so cool, having a dog like that. My uncle is a retired police man, to whom showed me the dogs at the station. Wow, they are smarter than some humans I have met. LOL anyways, I am a surg. tech student who stresses alot. I like music from the motown era. It's my favorite. I don't paint , write or read to much ( besides school stuff which is enough), I shoot pool. I used to play in Vegas at open tournaments, till I had my child. Now there's no time to practice. It's a great way to relieve stress though. So are you a computer wizzo? I am horrible with computers, oh yeah math too. Too many formulas . ..... I also agree with you about people, I shop at the grocery store at night as well. However I started to notice my patience with the stock people in the aisles were starting to bother me. So now I try to avoid it all. I am glad to see you are still with us, and look forward to getting to know you. Kitty

So you goos in physics then. lol I hate my class, it's mechanical physics required, trying to figure why I need to know about cranes, car engine formula stuff, beams, bridges... hello I am in the medical field. My instructor said I will never use this, now the next part of the semester I get into heat light and sound physics ,that I understand relates. I think the college wanted more money.hehe Depakote huh... I took that but put on 20-30 lbs. I have also taken paxil.. that was a little weird. I take topamax 400 mg now, wigged the other day, and 300 wellbutrin. I lost soem of my weight from depakote by the topamax. I am not obese and my body mass index isn't high, however i would just like to lose around 10, maybe 15 lbs. Just so I feel better, I am also diabetic. My sugar is high then low, I really don't eat right. I used to make myself eat once a day, cause the topamax, made me have no appetite. I think it still has that effect , but lately I have been a little more depressed than normal. Anyways, I have to go now. Nice chatting with you. Understand too about the stutter deal, my dad's friend has that too... he used to get made fun of when he was younger. He is just quiet now, probably for that reason, real smart man too. I think he's in his 50's. I felt bad once cause he called for my dad and I couldn't understand him so I hung up the phone . I thought it was a prank call, so he called back and said why did your wife hang up one me, my dad said sorry it was my daughter. He explained the whole thing to him, he understood. I really did feel bad. In person he really isn't that bad, just sounded different on the phone.I am on here everyday, look forward to chatting again. Nickie
