Today's day 7 on lamictal 25mg with an increase every two weeks to 100mg ... I've been having really scary vivid dreams as well as night mares . I just had a really scary nightmare right now that had me crying dripping sweat and my heart racing !! Now scared to be in my house because the dream happened in my house.. It's several different dreams all mushed into one .. Wondering if I should stay on medication and it will pass but I can't take these dreams much longer will probably not sleep tonight

Welcome to the forum!

Be sure to record any side effects you experience in case you need to notify your doctor later on. I haven't used lamictal so I'm not sure what to experience when using it. But I know that some meds take some time before you start to feel a difference. Maybe give it a little more time and see. If you're not comfortable, be sure to contact your doctor.

I hope you will feel better and the side effects will wean off.

I'm sorry you have to experience that. Nightmares are a real problem. It's yet to be explained by science so there is still no certainty on how it works. If it is caused by the medications then immediately consult your doctor about it.

In the meantime, you shouldn't deprive yourself from sleep. Try meditating before sleeping and focus on the positive things. Watch or joyful and inspirational movies and books and avoid scary ones. Our imagination creates fear so create something new from your imagination that is not scary. Also for a better sleep try drinking milk infused with honey.
