Have any of you tried a SAD light to help re-balance your hormones?

I don't know anything about this either. -- Do tell us more -- and about yourself too! :) I know from your name that you have Lyme; are you also a bipolar sufferer?

Lyme might have some let us say issues that relate to bipolar
disease. Indeed they might have a link as much of what doctors, try and tell one its all in the mind, cause their tests are not 101% correct. They then tell you its your fault its all in your head. Rather than in your biochemistry.

Lyme is the new or not so new in-disease its in fashion. (As much as bipolar is no longer manic depression)
But it covers a lot of other conditions if its not diagnosed soon enough it can develop into anything from Parkinson`s to mental health issues. Professor Hawking is supposed to have a form of it, rather than what
other disease he was given a lable for. (The Cambridge scientists in a wheelchair)

I should also say I am electrosensitive and chemically sensitive skull as there is not a forum here for that I will have to divided myself between various bi or multi places/polar?? tongue confused And I think the powers that be are up to no good!

don't remember lyme disease in the uk when i was living there.  maybe i was just blissfully ignorant - or maybe it arrived after i left.  my wife and i were looking as photos last night and there was a photo of my wife petting a deer at hampton court (?).  she never got lyme disease from that encounter.  yeah

i have been interested in full spectrrum lighting (fsl) for several decades.  when i was worrking on one world war iii system, i advocated for fsl in the command bunker.  don't know what ever happened to my proposal.  the point is moot today (thank all the gods above and below).

i am on my way to wal-mart (a discount - hah - store) this pm.  i've seen full spectrum lights there before and will pick up a couple to try out.  let you know how it turns out.

Hi UK Lyme,

I have one of SAD lights--I have bipolar 1, rapid cycling and seasonal affect disorder.  They are quite overlapping.  This summer my meds were all switched around and my premarin level was cut--I was sleeping all the time.  I used the light for 10-to 15 minutes in the morning to help lift the depression.  I have to be very careful because too much sends me into mania!  The main thing I was told about it is to use it early in the day or it does wacky stuff to your internal body clock, rhythm, etc. And to not look directly into the light.  I would read and eat my breakfast in front of it, with my timer on my stove set.  I believe it really does work.  I just went through periods of hypomania and trouble sleeping--am just getting on track with this with a med adjustment.  Needless to say, I am not using the light right now!  Let me know how this works for you--alot of people never know what I am talking about when I mention it.

With regard to Lyme its getting worse in the US and as

well as the UK. Its not only deer that carry the infection

there are over 300+ type of tick relating to each animal host. As well as other bitting or sting insects that are potential carries of infection. A Tick may only need the once to bite you, and not all produce the obvious rash.

As each species has slightly different symptom pattern.

The MoD and the US equivlent have been playing with Lyme Disease delibratly infecting Tick.

The Lyme Disease once it gets a holed then changes the bodies electrosensitivity by changing the

sodium ions.. The combined effect is not very nice psychically hence some of the effect of

Gulf War syndrome.. Only the military don`t only experiment on the people away at war but those at home.

omg!!  i never knew any of that.  i knew someone about 20 yrs ago who had contracted lyme disease.  her life was turned totally upside down.  if she was really lucky she could maybe be "sociable" for 2-4 hours a day.

i just got home from that "wonderful" black hole that sucks my money :-)   and i was mistaken.  they don't have fsl.  i'll try the home impoement stors tomorrow - they have a much better selection on this kind of thing and often their prices are better.

Don`t buy Halgen lights as they are too strong.. (Nor low energy lights as they give off very low frequencies.)
Halgen push the negative energy out too fast as soon as you turn the light out.. It bounces back in.

The correctly balanced light has a biochemical change stiumlating your hormones.. Like going out in the sun for 5 mins at a time to build your tan up.. Initially the light switiches off the hormones, before they reactive. in a few days. .. You could put it on a time switch as you build up the levels, I`ve found that you don`t have to be in the room with it all the time while its on, as it produces and energy field. Its like the Sun when its out reduces the negaitive radiation levels.. We had a few Sun eclipes in the UK.. The transmitter strength and radiation levels increased during the eclips, hence my awareness to electopollution and health links.

With regard to suppliers I am only getting UK on my search from here even on a google:Perhaps they are only made here? What you have to watch is that they are not too blue.

Blue draws in electropollution... The light needs a more a yellow tint..

Its difficult I don`t know if you can find a few US siites if that`s where you are and send me them? so I can see what might be best?

Really useful info here -- thanks Lyme Suffera -- and indeed Sue -- *very* important to know what you can and can't get away with when dealing with bp -- and just like any treatment that lifts the move finding the balance so that it doesn't send you into mania is crucial, so absolutely brilliant that you were able to advise others so well on this.

I'm not really sure how ALS (what Stephen Hawkings has) can be confused with Lyme disease.
ALS is actual degeneration of the physical brain cells, it's trackable on MRIs, where they can watch the brain cells die over time.

Yes they can look at Lymes with MRI`s as it attckes the CNS..
But how they guess which is, what?
When tests for Lyme are quite poor and if they are not looking for a varent
of the disease in over 300 possible types.

Its running a muck and the government/insurance companies are trying to bury it.. In the US as well as the UK. With inadiquate treatment only short
term antibiotics. Cause the insurance companies in the US. do not want to pay out. In the UK it hard to get the GP`s Likewise to treat. They don`t want to believe as they rely on tests rather than symptoms.
Most doctors do this no matter what the condition.

thanks Rosie X for the feedback. Warren, I got my SAD light from a company called Northern Lights--I believe it is in Canada. I haven't checked but they may have a web site.

Northern Lights looks OK:
But they only seem to have one style...
I know some do them as reading lights and even alarm clocks when the light wakes you up when its time to get up.

Jumping in here about a SAD light. I bought a 'HappyLite' by Veralux on eBay 2 or 3 years ago and it has been wonderful. My doctor started me on four hours a day and it got me up and going. She explained that the SAD phenomenon is a left over pseudo-hibernation reflex in people of Northern European ancestry. Said they survived the ice ages by eating stored grain in gruels and slept the long winters away... She asked me if I just wanted a big bowl of pasta and to take a nap.... (LOL!) That was part of the way she diagnosed me. She has SAD herself. The light has been a Godsend to me. The first winter I used it I put ceramic tile in the bathroom and started a new business! thanks for that very informatie aticle on the "winter blues."  i remember a segment of one of the magazine tv news broadfcasts that provided the basic information that this article persued.

sorry about the lateness of my reply to you.  i have cronic debilitating back pain.  i've had a laminectomy, leaving me with an 18 inch titanium rod in my back.  at any rate, i tripped over the darrned dog and almost fell - one good fal and i don't walk again.  i caught myself before falling but messed up myback from the strain and the twisting.  i've been in bed doped up the the max darvocet and lortab that i can stand.  i'm a little better this pm.

My brains not in tacked either I`ve just had a mini stoke or migraine. Woke up Sunday with my face not in its right mind?
My GP sending me for a neck scan to see what`s happening...
Just thinking if you`ve got a piece of metal/ ariel in your back does not that make you rather electrical too?
Or can you discharge things perhaps?
