Hi all,

Just wanted to let you all know that, if I've been a bit slower than usual recently, it's because things haven't been so great with me. It's the panic attacks back in great force... . By the end of last week I was exhausted from them, afraid of going out and had started taking an extra half a-d pill an evening. I know this isn't a wise idea (self-medicating never is) and I will be seeing my doc early next week to try to get some decent help.

I'm not trying to neglect anyone, and I am reading; just if I don't respond immediately, it's because it's not been so easy to do stuff recently.

That's okay Rosie, I am sure that we all understand!  Take care of yourself, and hopefully sometime soon you can tell us how much better you feel.  Good luck with everything!

You need to take care of yourself. Even if you find that difficult; remember that you can't take care of anyone else if you don't take care of yourself.

And we're here for you as well!

I hate panic attacks, they're so horrible at the time, and then deadly embarassing afterwards if you were in public. The last time I had a really bad one was when I was in the doctors waiting room just after I'd been in hospital for the BP. They put me in a small room on my own, but I nearly cried when I was normal again because I was so embarrassed!

I've had some revelations over the last couple of days -- hasn't made the sadness or the panic go, but I think I'm beginning to see more wht's going on ... and it seems to be part of a pattern that goes way back. I don't know quite how to go about dealing with it at present: I know it's going to take more than just meds. Not having the smoking to fall back on may be part of the coping problem at the moment, and I'm hoping that things will get better as that fades more.

I can't even begin to write about any of the stuff that's caused/causing the problem (just tried), but I guess I've taken a step in recognising some of it.

As you've pointed out to me, so many times, those steps in recognising things are such big things!

When you're ready to talk about it all, we'll be here to listen, if you're never ready, we'll still be here to support you.

of all of the cocamamie reasons to try to start smoking again!  :-) (((((rosie)))).  i'm so sorry that you are hurting.  and like dj says, panic attacks are the pits.

also to agree with dj, you must heal yourself before you can heal others.  you have to take care of you first.  we've all survived for this long and will probably all survive a while longer.  good dgrief, we've only known each other a few months, rosie (seems like forever - in a good way).

i'll be sending good thoughts your way.  good luck with the doc - hope he can help you get better.
