Should I report instructor?

Okay so I have two instructors that seem to have pretty big biases about mental illnesses.  Here is some of the things that they have said.

(on talking to hospitalized patients with mental illness) "It's like talking to someone from Mars."  (Aparrently she said this because she thought you have to relate to them differently.  And then she later said "They are not like us."  When she said this she looked everyone in the room directly in the eyes.  When she looked at me I felt like she might somehow know, but of course she doesn't.

I believe I posted about some of the above comments earlier.  However, a second instructor said something that really got to me.

The instructor just declared "None of you are mentally ill.  If you were mentally ill you would not be functioning well enough to be in the program."

This comment really got to me.  I kind of feel like meeting with the instructor and telling her that I have a mental illness. And then telling her that I am functioning just fine, and point out that I got an A on her last test.  Of course I don't think I would really want this kind of instructor to know.  I feel like I should report these comments to someone in the school.  Although I kind of feel afraid to say anything.  I don't want the instructors to find out that I said anything, and that I have a mental illness.  Maybe I could just write it on the annonymous course eval at the end of the semester.

Talk to them and point out that there are many levels of mental illness, and that they obviously don't understand any of them. That people with mental illness can, and do, function perfectly and acheive extremely well.
And then report them.
That's just not on.

Jade hun -- this is unacceptable. I am a university lecturer myself and I take this as not just irresponsible and uninformed but offensive. If this was someone making a racial comment, there would be outrage without question -- and for good reason; this is a comment about a section of society that is equally deserving of outrage.

If I were you, I would contact the disabilities service (if there is one; if not, counselling) within your college and ask a representative to come with you when you talk to your head of school. This demands immediate and comprehensive attention: it is not acceptable and the instructors in question need to understand this -- and indeed more about mental illness in general.

ohhh report them! They are incredibly insensitive and are mental health bigots.

I am pretty sure there is a diagnosis for this sort of insensitivity. I think it is called "myheadisstuck" syndrome and with all mental illnesses of its ilk, completely incurable, short of a cerebrectomy.

Once again, bipolar is a physical disorder, not a mental illness and I don't care what the DSM-IV says. They are working on the DSM-V and the classification of many things, including bipolar disorder will be clarified. Prevailing opinion among the enlightened (as opposed to those with myheadisstuck syndrome) is that personality disorders are the real mental illnesses because you can't medicate them, they are direct outgrowths of issues acquired during a person's upbringing and are deeply ingrained. You see bipolar is nature, you are born with it, it is just the way you are assembled. Personality disorders are nuture, it is all about what happens to you and how you survived it.
