Please, what are your taking? Should I be on a mood stabilizer? Lexapro and Wellbutrin together were helping me but my ultra conservative pdoc took me off of Lexapro because 3% of the population can get "serotonin syndrome." I'm not doing well and now she tells me "go to the hospital." Please help!!!

I'm taking 3.5 mg xanax, but weening off, 1500 mg depakote and 100 mg seroquel at night.  I'm taking these drugs mainly for what I believe to be the manic symptoms of bipolar mixed that manifest themselves as aggression, irritiability, hostility and anxiety.  I got off anti-depressants because they were either making my anxiety, etc. worse or were not having any effect on my depression at very high doses.  I don't know what would be right for you. but this change has helped me quite a bit.  I would recommend seeing another pdoc, if she is taking you off something that works.

Thank you, Green.  I talked to my regular doctor yesterday as it is impossible to get a new pdoc right now. He explained to me that most bi-polar peeps will get worse with ssris so I am going to watch this carefully.  I'm glad that you have finally found something that is working for you.
