Hi Everyone,

I am going through a really hard time right now. I try to explain it my psy. doctor, but i don't think she understands. I am going through ups and downs. One moment, i get really mad and the next moment i can cry real easy. I can look at something on T.V. and burst out crying. It doesn't take anything for me to go from one extreme to the other. I am i going through a manic episode? Right now the meds. that i take are 25000 depakote when i can remember or when I can buy it or get free sample. I also take 100 sequeol 3 time a day, which I only take 1 at night because that is the only way i can function. i take 1 klonpan at night and 100 topomax at night and 50 topamax in morning. I go back to the doctor on february 12, 2007. I hope she changes my meds. I do not like this sequeol. Or maybe i should take everything right.

Heaven help me because I can't help myself right now.

Hi Penney , I'm going to be brutally honest with you OK - the only way you are going to find out if these meds are right for you is to take the correct doses everyday prescribed by your pdoc.

Your head must be a mess right now as you are on and off and not taking correct doses , you need to take them right and give yourself time for them to work (some meds take 8 weeks , maybe more in some cases , of continuous use to work).

If you are unhappy with the side effects of a med there are lots of others you can try so always tell your pdoc if you can't cope (some meds do have managable common side effects , which when taken without a break dissapear within a few days , like a headache for instance).

Please tell your pdoc what's going on - if you don't think she will understand , or if you have trouble explaining write it down....I find it helps so much.

Smiler is right Penney... your body is already going through highs and lows on it's on, then you throw meds at them, and not taking them like you should can exascerbate the situation.. please please please talk to you docs, so that you can get straightened out.. hang in there and let us know how you are doing... take good care..

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the advise. I know in my mind that you are right, but you know i want that magic pill to stop all this chatter in my head. My brain is not quiet right now. The only thing I don't like about the sequeol is that it sedates me so much that is that it is hard for me to drive. I go see my psy. today not the doctor. I don't see her until the 12th of Feb. I write and let everyone know how it goes tonight.

Penney-

I take 400 mg of seroquel but I take it at night because of the sedation qualities it has. Ask you Dr. if you can do it that way. I really like it because it helps my mind shut off and I can sleep. On the flip side, I agree with Ducky and Smiler. You need to take your meds as perscribed until you can get in to see your Dr. Don't mess around with the dosages or times you take them until you get a go ahead from your Dr. Meds can be really tricky as your body gets used to them. Smiler said that some drugs can take up to 8-10 weeks, some of them longer, to reach therapeutic levels. I know how hard it is as I'm still getting used to some of mine. It takes a while for you to find the right meds and dosages. And all you can really do is give it time. My heart goes out to you and know that we are all here if needed.

Went to see psyolist today not the psychist (can't spell sorry). I just start grad school and got a student loan so I am having to pay off some debt I owe when I went through a episode. Can you believe I had about 10 cell phones at one time. Now every collection agency around the world is coming at me. Compond that with I am trying to answer questions from two classes that I think are very stupid. I got this grand idea last summer to become a teacher knowing I don't like being around people. I thing I was going through a episode. Right now it is the chatter in my mind that is just continuing and will not stop or is this cycling? I'm just going to wait to see my doctor because she is out of town right now.
