Warning! I got tired of swallowing so may pills so I decided to try chewing them up instead. Don't do it! They taste awful.

EEEWWWW!!!!! I've had my Lamictal stuck in my throat and it is so....bitter?....I don't know, indescribable! Again....EEEWWWWW!!! Also xanax tastes about the same, it disolves very quickly in your mouth and unless I have a drink right next to me, I can taste it too.

i also take lithium and lamical i also chew them because i cannot swallow them whole i dont mind the taste probaly because i have been chewing them for years

Dude-

It says don't chew the lamictal on the bottle... don't think it effects the absorbtion rate

After taking so many pills, I could probably swallow a horsepill. Also, thinking about getting off of my antidepressant and going strictly with the Lamic. That stuff is my guy despite the $200 monthly cost. I can afford it, but lordamercy. Haven't been around because of this decent run of stability. Hope everyone has been doing well lately.

It also says on the Lithium bottle not to chew it.  The kind I take is extended release.  If extended release tablets are chewed it would be absorbed right away instead of over a period of time.  This could lead to higher levels of lithium than you want.
