Lexapro, Lamictal, Seroquil....... Please help!

Im currently taking 20mg lexapro in the morning, 150mg lamictal in the morning and most recently last couple of days 150mg Seroquil ( 25mg morning, 25mg noon and 100mg bedtime.)

Is the lexapro a waste? I read on wikipidea that Seroquil is a dopimine and serotonin antagonist, which would mean it lowers both those nuerotransmitters correct?

If this is true why bother taking the lexapro to increase serotonin in the synapse? it seems kind of counter productive.

Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

I took 25 mg of lexapro and 200 mg. of lamictal together about 2 months ago. I do not know much about seroquel but rarely lamictal will not work whatsoever unless paired with different medications. If the meds are making you feel alright, then no worries. For me, I take an antibiotic for my acne but I take a probiotic to balance things out. That's what your doctor may be doing. But if you are not feeling good on your meds, consider talking to your doctor. I am on Lamictal and Abilify. It's great stuff.

I agree with Allie - if it works I wouldn't worry how , but , if it's making you unwell then try something else.

DOES THE QUOTE about LAMICTAL MEAN THAT IF I ONLY TAKE LAMICTAL IT WON'T HELP, THAT I SHOULD BE ON SOMETHING ELSE?

CONFUSED NOW - I ALSO READ SOMEWHERE THAT YOU SHOULDN'T TAKE LAMACTIL WITH XANAX - ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING about THAT, OR SHOULD I TAKE IT AT SEPERATE TIMES?

Hi there SG , please don't hesitate to call your doc about these things - each one of us is unique therefore meds have a different effect on each of us , just because one med doesn't work for someone doesn't mean it won't work for you.

 Ask your doc the reasoning behind each med and what they're for , it will give you a better understanding of what's happening.

The things we read when we research meds are guidelines rather than definitive but they have to be like that due to certain regulations.
