Wow , there are so many new names on here!

 

I'd like to say a warm welcome to you all , whether you have BP , or a family member or friend is a sufferer , or you are just looking for information , you have come to the right place

 

All our members are wonderful and they always have great advise and friendship to offer , we are one big online family that support each other

 

All the moderators on the Healing Well boards are sufferers who have volunteered their time to help out , we are a non-profit making site - we keep this site up and running with the donations made by members here. So if you have made a donation thankyou 

 

I wish you all well , keep posting , and spread the Healing Well word to other people who could benifit from this site.

Welcome to our BP family

I appreciate the warm welcome. I am looking for all support and people to chat with as possible. I was diagnosed with bi-polar about 2 months ago. I knew I have had a mental disorder for about 4 years but never saught help. My wife married me knowing this but we both had no idea how bad it could get. The past year the "disorder" started to take full control over my thoughts and actions. Until the point where I all but threw away my marriage and any friends - caused by the addiction I had to gambling. My wife said she would leave unless I went to an inpatient or a strong outpatient program. That is where I was able to get my control and passion for life back. I never knew how this disorder can control everything that goes on in someones lives. So I have been diagnosed officailly with bi-polar disorder and also have anxiety disorder. For the past few months I have been reading, praying, journaling, and trying to find out as much as I could about this disorder. We are moving in about a month so I was going to put all that effort into finding a support group here but was wanting one. Looking at this site - it looks like exactly what I need to have to continue the ongoing battle with bi-polar. It is another step I should and can take to learn as much as I can about mental disorders.
