I was wondering if I could enlist some assistance... I have been recently been diagnosed bipolar. While I am finding that there is no shortage of literature out there for adults on this subject matter, there seems to be no age appropriate literature out there for young children who have to cope with having bipolar parents. Would any of you happen to know of any books or other resources that might benefit children from ages seven to ten help better understand what is going on with their mother? Thanks.

 I don't know of any literature but if you are seeing a counselor along with your psychiatrist they should have a group session with you and your children to explain what is going on with mom. Hope this bit of info helps. Our children are grown and I printed off a ton of info for them buut your children being young I would check with a counselor. If this dosen't work I will see if there is any info available for the young ones. God Bless you and I will be praying for you and your family. Hugs :-)

Welcome to the HW family, I'm glad you found us.  I went online and didn't find any book for that age group.  I'm quite sure there are some out there.  I would talk with your psychiatrist or a therapist/couselor about it.  They will have more direction than I do.
