is anyone on a TON of different head meds?

i am diagnosed with BP as well as depression/anxiety disorder. i am on a lot of meds and am wondering if anyone else is too. this is the only balance we have been able to find, there have been some added and taken away but right now i am on 5. Geodon for the BP, Lamictal for the mood stabilizer, celexa for the depression, buspar for the anxiety and klonopin as needed for anxiety attacks. like i said this is the only combo that works for me, it brought me out of a horrible psychotic state and i can pretty much function again and i trust my pdoc completley. i was just wondering if anyone else is on a whole bunch of meds as well?

In my experience this is not unusual, my hubbie currently takes 2 Lexapro and Seroquel but in the past couple of years has tried at least half a dozen and been on more than 2 multiple times and we are still really trying to find the right meds and mix of meds. He doesn't have all of the things you have listed either.

I would say that if it is working for you currently, you don't have lots of horrible side effects and you trust your doc then I wouldn't be worrying at all.

It's not uncommon at all to be on multiple medications for Bi-Polar. In fact, my mother and I often place bets everytime I go see my Pdoc because 9 out of 10 times I come back with yet another prescription. Just for my BP, I currently take Wellbutrin, Lexapro, Klonipin, Lamictal and Rozerem. I also take protonix, triamterene and topomax to offset the side affects brought on by this combination of drugs. It would be nice if the pharmacitical companies could come up with one pill that does it all but that's just wishful thinking. It all depends on the individual and their specific needs.

I do have a brother who also suffers from BP and he has been stabilized by using the exact same drug regimen as me. Not sure if it's because we are both from the same genes but it makes sense.

So believe me, you are not alone with the multiple medications. Along with my above medications, I also take asthma medication and soon RA medications. When I travel I have to pack an extra suitcase just for my meds.

Besides the meds listed below, I also have other health conditions like osteoporosis (due to long term steriod use) that I take Actonel for as well as high BP meds...

i'm on lithium, geodon, lamictal, clonidine, ambien, and klonopin if i need it. plus i take something for my blood pressure and asthma/allergies. i hate taking all these pills but they seem to help me so i guess that makes it okay.

thanks guys i was really wondering if 5 was a lot but i guess not :)
im also in a tonn of others for various things so i take about 12-15 different rx's. which is quite a morning and evening snack for me :)
