1. I woke up this morning on time.
2. I passed a test for one of my classes.
3. I did most of the things on my list today
4. Abilify seems to be working

5. I didn't yell at anyone today  mad

6.  Found out I can graduate next semester after all
7. Thought well of the future
8. Slept good.
9. Ate good food.
10. Took my meds on time

Absolutely Wonderful. I am glad that you are focusing on all the positives in a day.

That sounds healthy.

 

It sounds like you did very well, passed a test, found out you would be graduating on time plus you had some time to think about your future.

 

I'm so glad that the Ambilify is starting to settle in and making you feel better. I hope it continues to be a good choice for you!

 

Yay for you! Keep up the good work and continue to keep us posted!

This isn't just for me, I wanted others to join in.  Sorry, I was not specific, I thought it would just catch on.  It may seem like all is well with me, but I feel like I am threading in unsteady waters.  I guess I decided to focus on the positive instead of the negative for the day.  Boy, was it hard to do, it takes a lot of practice.

Olivia, you just hit the nail on the head...A) you start with a choice (and commitment to that choice) B) you then have to follow through despite any "instinctual" feeling you may have that comes up. You are ABSOLUTELY correct it is HARD to do, but as you practice it, it DOES get easier...A LOT easier, until one day you find that most days you default to this automatically (it helps to build good resiliency for self "manual" correction), and you realize that it is the unusual day that you catch yourself being negative (and let's face it...some days are just genuinely BAD...we all have them! And whether you are BP or not, we ALL should do this…I know a WHOLE LOT of non BP who are dragging themselves through always focusing on the negative!) SO, when it doesn't HAVE to be a BAD day...why let it, focus on the positive. I know you say you are treading on unsteady waters...but I want to point out that this was even MORE of a positive step because you managed it IN SPITE of that fact. Breathe, focus, choose, and the BP monster controls less, YOU control more. Hang in the Olivia...GREAT WORK!!!! I will join in now (as it has been a rough morning with my son, my business is not moving and I feel stuck in MUD and it shouldn’t, what I am doing is fantastic and needed and special and could be HUGE if it would just bloody take OFF…UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I am under some other stress and have EVERY reason to want to crawl in bed today and just stay there with the covers over my head...and I am not BP, BUT I WON"T...I will take your lead...!)

1. My kids are off to school on time
2. My husband helped get the twins ready and took them to school today while I took our oldest (I usually do both)
3. My oldest child proved to me once again that he is a good young man with a brave and kind soul - even if he is not ready to do this exercise today!
4. I had a great business meeting yesterday on some future possibilities to add into my business – even it they are far off
5. I will be done today on an accounting project that will allow us to get our taxes done for 2006 FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPIE!!!
6. I slept well last night
7. I lost another 2 pounds according to the scale
8. I finally got the daycare situation worked out with my twins school when it looked originally like we wouldn't be able to do that and I would loose 2 hours extra out of my work day because of it
9. My best friend is coming to visit in less than two weeks from England - she called and we got to chat this morning and have a great giggle together. I can't wait for her to get here!
10. I have rehab today and will be pleased to report that I have done ALL my workouts since last week.

  1. I got up, took a shower, put on a comfy outfit and came to work (even thought it took every fiber of my being to get out of bed)!
  2. I interviewed a wonderful person for a new design position at work.
  3. I have made the decision to attend the wedding tomorrow with my friend as my date.
  4. I made an appt. for a hair cut/color for tomorrow morning.
  5. It is a beautiful day here...sunny, blue skies, and a few puffy white clouds.
  6. I had a healthy breakfast.
  7. I found an old expense reimbursement check for $16.21 that I haven't cashed yet!
  8. I am going for a nice walk at lunch.
  9. I am listening to some great, fun music on my ipod.
  10. I continue to find such love and support on this site!

For Yesterday...still working on today...lol

1.    I became aware that I turned a discussion into an argument.

2.    I walked away from the situation and re-focused my energy.

3.    I decided to keep myself busy by running errands.

4.    I treated myself by purchasing a new nail color for myself at the drug store.

5.    Instead of walking out of the grocery store because I couldn't stay focused, I decided to stay and just take my time no matter how long it took!

6.    Once home I took a breather and poured myself a cup of coffee and reflected on how I can continue to keep myself under control for the rest of the day.

7.    When I started to feel very irritable while making dinner, I made myself a promise that I would get out of the house and take a long walk after dinner.

8.    As I was walking out the door for my walk, my husband decided to tag along with me (when I really wanted to be my myself.) I just took a deep breath and decided that I would be nice and think about how much he probably really needed a walk too and let him tag along.

9.    I held my tongue when my daughter came home from work grouchy.

10.   As I became more irritable as the evening progressed, I continued trying to refocus my energy in healthy ways.

Wow, you guys are making making me feel bad, being all positive when I am SUPER grouchy. I've had a long day and right now it feels like it's been nonstop crummy, but it hasn't. So, I'll just give it a go here:

1. I got a full 8 hours sleep last night.
2. I enjoyed my 4 hours of work at the bookstore -- I like my job there. I have few responsibilities and my coworkers are smart and funny, and almost all of them talk in complete sentences, don't use pacifiers or need me to change their diapers.
3. My best friend called me at work and made me laugh.
4. My daughter made me laugh a billion times today. She is a constant source of joy. (Okay -- I can't resist-- I'll share one -- my friend and I were walking down the tv aisle in Target this afternoon, my 2-year-old daughter Rosie is in the cart. On comes Barry Manilow, singing, an advertisement for a new CD. Close up on his piercing blue eyes, very youthful face. My friend says "That's Barry Manilow, Rosie. He's had a facelift." Rosie repeats loudly and emphatically "Facelift!")
5. I got a birthday card from an out-of-town friend with a smiling llama on it. Can't beat a smiling llama.
6. I have some mint chocolate chip ice cream.
7. I'm looking forward to taking a shower and getting in bed with my book.
8. We got paid.
9. I got a very sweet email from someone who was grateful for my help.
10. My computer works again.


That took me a long time, but I really do feel better. Thanks Miss Olivia!

Such a great idea, how could I not participate!

1.  I am really looking forward to today, Saturday, with my bf.

2.  The weather is my favourite weather today, sunny, cool, leaves are changing colours!

3.  Bf and I are going for a walk today for sure (the dog will come too)

4.  My HW family made me feel so much better.

5.  I am continuing to get high marks at school.

6.  I am going to have a coffee this morning and talk to my mom on the phone while drinking it.

7.  My bf is on vacation, no work for him this upcoming week.

8.  I have housework to do today, but it will be great to have a clean house.

9.  I am going out this morning to get some things I need...just love driving in the city.

10.  My kitty cuddled with me in bed this morning.

Bravo to all of you, your lists made me proud of all of you and made me smile yeah

I am glad you are all encouraged, most of you of have been going through rough times in the last few days/weeks and I thought this would be a good change to focus on the positive things in our lives.

i dont have 10 but i have a few

1. i got thru my colonoscopy with few problems

2. my anxiety was under control before the procedure (medicated though)

3. i started crocheting a new scarf

4. tomr is my 3rd week of subbing and for the first time im not anxious, im looking forward to it

5. i did a lot of laundry and i already packed my lunch and have my clothes ready

6. took 2 naps from the meds from the procedure (i can NEVER sleep)

7. i spent a REASONABLE amount of money ordering tattoo coverup online and i didnt experience the rush i normally get from buying things, this is big for me as it is a problem i have

thats pretty much it but thinking of it htis way it actually makes me feel better. i think i dont realize sometimes how much i actually did accomplish even in the face of all this adversity.

i like this topic, i think we should keep it going for awhile, i find it very theraputic.

good job to those who have already posted, especially finding 10 things!

Since I just posted all th ugly things in My world, i thought I'd try this:

1. Very Productive Day at work
2. My boys were happy to see me when I got home.
3. we ate Supper together as a family
4. I went to Tim Hortonts (Canadian Instaute of caffine) and not to bad of a line up
5. Got my 3 year lod to His first skating lesson on time
6. watching the three year Olds Trying to Stand Up on Skates
7. Made small Talk and befriended another mom at skating
8. Kids went to bed very easily
9. got a new friend Reguest on "Facebook"
10. set up first appointment with personal trainer

Yesterday....today is just starting yeah

1.  Had a lunch date with my hubby.

2.  I went to my therapy appointment.

3.  I treated myself to a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee on the

    way home. (My special little treat.)

4.  My sister popped in for an unexpected visit with my 

     nephews and I enjoyed our time together.

5.  I finally bought myself new pillows.

6.  I watched a movie called "Akela and the Bee" and enjoyed

     it.

1. I am actually doing well in school despite my fears of failing
2. I am in the process of a new pdoc/therapist (hopefully I won't have to look again soon)
3. the people of HW have been really supportive/understanding
4. I might go back to Geodon, and I am actually looking forward to it
5. I am trying to sleep at a normal times, at least I am trying
6. I have a lot of free time, and I am enjoying it

Sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference. Most people don't understand how hard it can be sometimes just to get out of bed, much less accomplish amything at all. Good for you!!

Thanks.  You make it seem so easy the way you word it.  It took several weeks of work and determination to get where I did.  and the People of Hw have been the best.  They have encouraged me most of the way.  Somedays I know I would not make it without them.  Yes, half of the time I just wanted to stay in bed and forget the world, but that doesn't always work.  I am just trying to focus on the positive things in my life, they are worth fighting for.
